When the emblems are passed at a Jehovah's Witness commemoration of the Lord's Evening Meal, or Last Supper, it is specifically so that each mature person can demonstrate publicly whether he will partake or will not partake. Young children are sometimes skipped when passing the bread and wine.
The only thing to prevent someone from partaking is the feeling in his heart, and his respect for God and/or the dignity of the occasion.

In my small congregation we have had no one partake of the emblems (unleavened bread and wine) since I have been attending - 10 years now.
In the congregation located in the next town west of us there have been at least 2 partakers for the past several years.
The total number of those who partake worldwide is approximately 8000, but as they die, this number dwindles.
It's only those who are sure they are part of the 144,000 anointed brothers and sisters who will be with Jesus Christ in heaven and will rule over those remaining on the earth who partake at the memorial of Jesus' death.

I am not a Jehovah's Witness but have family members that are, not all partake only "The chosen few" 144000 in total, most of whom are not now living, the rest believe in an Earthly life after Armageddon.

You are talking about the Memorial of Jesus death, right? We have 2 partakers in our congregation.

Yes. The remaining members of what is sometimes called the "little flock" or the 144,000. Though their number is dwindling there are still those who partake.

JW is banned is several countries because it is a cult. You warp people's minds so they don't even want to visit their families. JW takes all joy out of life, including holidays, family, etc.
Oddly, JW encourages you to be poor and unsucessful. What a bunch of loosers.
People who try to leave discover that all of their JW "friends" will brand them and disown them. Now, that's a cult.

Good question. My friends aunt wouldn't go to her own mother's funeral because it was held in another church. I always wondered what they do for funerals.
