Why am I here? Because I am. There are some questions that just can't be answered. Some religions do answer them, such as God put us here to worship him, but these answers are a matter of faith. If you don't believe in it, then you won't be satisfied by the answer.
Personally, I don't worry about my purpose in the grand scheme of life, the universe, and everything. For me, my purpose is to live my life as best I can for me and everything around me. The business of living and of being a whole person with good character is difficult enough without an unanswerable philosophical problem. Instead, I choose my purpose as a member of my society. I choose a job/career that benefits my spirit and my society. I do what I need to do to get the job and keep it. I choose my purpose in my family, to be the wife/mother/other female relative that helps the family individually and as a whole so that we can all benefit from our relationships. I choose my purpose in myself, to try to be as moral as I can, to be educated, and most importantly to me, to be at peace with what I am in this very moment, in this very place.
I don't try to understand why I am. I try to understand how I am. The first, I can't do. The second, I can do and I can effect.

Then do that. Maybe that's God's entire purpose for you. Maybe the one kind wod you say to one individual is your entire purpose for being here. So keep doing good and you'll fulfill our purpose. Along the way, many people will be blessed by your witness. If God has something else for you, He'll let you know. Just be open to His voice and take every opportunity to do His work.

There is a God and he loves you, but he is not like described in any of the existing religions. Don't bother with the Bible. It is close to meaningless. You chose to come to this world from the spiritual world. This may not be the first time nor the last. Each time you come here to learn something in particular. You are one of the brave ones. A lot of the others are too afraid to come here at all. Before you came you chose what will you will experience. Often this has something to do with experiencing some kind of adversity. This doesn't excuse anyone who mistreats you here. But most everything was decided by you before you came here. You don't remember it right now though. Treat others kindly and do your best here.

If you are a Christian you can pray to God to help show you your purpose here! The main purpose of a Christian is that he is suppose to share the Gospel with as many people as possible! Jesus died for our sins and the Good News is that you can have eternal life in Heaven if you place you faith in the finished work of the cross!

This whole of the Bible is a teaching on what our purpose is here on earth - and it is not different from one person to the next. We all have the same purpose. To repent and to turn our hearts and minds and souls and bodies - the whole of ourselves - to God in love, and to love our "neighbor" (that is, our fellow mankind) as we love ourselves. These are the two new commandments that God has given us, and which is the purpose of our lives. In fact, it is this which allows us to attain to the likeness of God, which he intended us to do from the beginning.
I hope this helps.

Our purpose as christians, is to be holy! We are to be a holy people and learn and practice all of God's ways to the fullest!
Then this knowledge, will help us be the leaders we need to be when we reign with Christ in his coming kingdom as kings and priests!
Rev 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and who washed us from our sins in His own blood,
Rev 1:6 and He made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be the glory and dominion forever and ever
Rev 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; because You were slain, and You redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and language and people and nation;
Rev 5:10 and have made them kings and priests to our God; and they will reign on the earth."
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection. Over these the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him for a thousand years.

We have many different purposes on this earth. We are here because God loves us, His divine sons and daughters, and He wants to see how much we love Him by testing us, by trials of our faith. He gives us flesh-and-blood bodies, as He has, and He sent His Only Begotten, Jesus Christ, to atone for the sins of the world, for no one but Jesus Christ is sinless in this life. Our minds have been covered by a veil so that we cannot remember anything of the pre-existence (excuse my spelling, if I'm wrong) and we must face each trial placed upon us with the faith that our Heavenly Father will pull us through, holding onto great determination to endure to the end of our days. We are here to have joy and pain, for without one, we couldn't know the other. We have been given free agency, the ability to choose for ourselves what turns we take on the road of life, although we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions. Each choice, for good or ill, is our responsibility, and we must live up to it, for we will be judged of our thoughts, words, and deeds (God knows all of them) here on Earth at the day of judgement. We are here for all of those things and more.

Please don't fall for that. I know this is going to sound . . . different at best. Your purpose in life is to follow after Christ, trust Him. Believe what He says more than anyhting you see.
There is nothing, NOTHING else more important.
The word of God is our guide to Him. Get into the word. Get a good teacher. The best I've ever heard is Dr. Gene Scott. You can hear him on the internet.
I mean it. You can be easily misguided. Learn the word of God and serve Him.

You may stumble through a lot of mistakes before you find out what God wants for you. Don't stop trying to be kind. That may be the one thing God wants for you.
