I have several customers who have converted cars using a tank for the vegetable oil in the trunk with a heater core installed to keep the oil warm so it flows right. They just install a valve so the can start the vehicle with diesel and warm up the oil, then switch after the oil is warm. I understand there are instructions on how to do this available online. As far as i understand, you can switch any diesel over to it.

you don't use straight vegetable oil. You have to mix it with methanol and lye and heat it to make it into a diesel like fuel. Look up biodiesel for some descriptions of how to make it. Aside from that you don't need to change anything but you probably will need to change your filters more often at first because it will actually clean your engine and remove some built up dirt and grime.

It is rather expensive- figure at least a thousand for installation. The vegetable oil use to be easy to come by- now resteraunts and other establishments are charging for the use of their oil. One bonus, or depending upon your point of view, a drawback- your vehicle will smell like a french fry.
