I would stay away from Purina, Pedigree, Iams, Eukanuba, etc.
There are FAR higher quality food out there that do not contain by-products, sugars, grains, preservatives, artificial flavors and colors, the list goes on.
I recommend Innova puppy (not the EVO). Your local feed store or high quality pet store (not Petco or Petsmart) will carry these foods. Heres Natura's link. They make a few different formulas. Wellness and Eagle Pack are good too. These foods are human grade, high quality, and will have a tremendous effect on your dogs health throughout life. Good luck

Either Puppy Chow or Pedigree Puppy - they are both great! Any dog under the age of one year old should eat a quality puppy food as this is essential for proper growth and bone development!

When our vet recommends a food change, he ALWAYS tells the client what food to change to and how to make the change so as to not upset the stomach further! Call your vet on Monday and ask WHAT FOOD to put your puppy on! Always make a change over 7 days time. On days 1 and 2, offer 25% of the new food, mixed with 75% of the old food. On days 2-3 offer half new food and half old food. On days 4-5 offer 75% of the new food with 25% of the old. Day 7 is all new food. That's how we tell clients to gradually change over. Our vets like Science Diet and Royal Canin. There is food "for sensitive stomachs," but your dog still needs PUPPY food. So your vet really needs to complete the vet visit for you! I don't know what testing was done. There are special poop tests where your vet could send out prepared samples for diagnostics. I think your vet is on the right track with the food being a problem. Now he needs to recommend a food specific to your pet's needs. Even then, it could be trial and error. Any time your dog is gassy, has diarrhea, or soft stools, that indicates a problem. vet tech

If your puppy is old enough to eat dog food --- be sure to feed it Puppy Food -- pups need different nutrition than grown dogs.
Maybe you should get a book at the Pet Store as soon as possible. It is best to do research BEFORE getting a pet! Be sure to take the pup to the Vet for shots, etc.

Eukanuba puppy formula works very well...make sure it is made of lamb and rice and make sure he eats puppy food until he is one year old...also if he experiences any stomach trouble you can give him a little canned pedigree puppy food and mix in a little plain yogurt and it will help him a lot., this is actually a good thing to do even if he doesn't exhibit any stomach trouble :)

Dalmatian Pups are very energetic; as you may have already learned, so they require good solid food as soon as possible following the mushy stuff you give for the first 10 weeks. Give them some bones, small enough to get there jaw around, while good for them, bones also help keep them active while not worrying you all the time.

I feed my 2 pups Puppy Chow....I'd like to buy them something more expensive, but can't.
The vet told me to not worry about it that Puppy Chow provides what they need. Also, he said it doesn't hurt to give them good high protein table scraps...(ie: if it's good for humans) excluding junk of course...
So....anyway, I had some homemade turkey noodle soup in the freezer....turkey, broth, carrots, celery, noodles.....I thawed it the other day and mixed it with their dry food....they loved it.....
Just don't try to feed adult dog food...they hate it....I think they handle the smaller bites better....
