I don't believe it. The man is a Christian. Jesus Christ is a Jew. You can't be a Christian and anti semetic. There are always people that want to make Christians look bad. Just remember you cannot believe everything that the press reports. That has been proven time and again.

Ok, wow, I read an article about ithe incident in a reputable paper after posting the above It seems that he is battling some real demons in his life and it is unfortunate that the media is plastering it everywhere. I have read stories before about Mel Gibsons Dad being an extreme racist and anti semite. I suspect he probably grew up in that environment and from everything I've seen and heard, it really seems like he is trying to overcome that history. I pray that he does overcome the alcohol problem and is able to undo some of the damage. Sometimes the press needs to leave things alone.

There are still some people out there who don't like the history behind the crucifixion of Christ. They think that, because someone tells the truth, which is that it was the Jews that condemned Him, that the person is spreading hate against all Jews. NO! The priesthood of that day were corrupt, and they were the ones who wanted Jesus out of the way.
As a white Christian woman from a Celtic background, I am aware that some of my ancestors did things that weren't too cool. I may not be very happy about it, but the history is there, and I cannot erase it, even if I would. That doesn't mean that I approve of the things those ancient people did.

Some groups (not necessarily Jews) are trying to pick a fight with Mr. Gibson (and Christians in general) with the false accuation that his movie, Passion of the Christ, misrepresented Jews in a damaging way.

The claim is purely political. The movie was spot-on according to the Bible in regards to he role of Jews in the crucifiction of Jesus.

Kinda like saying Christians are responsible for the Crusades and the Inquisition. Yeah, it's an ugly part of our past that we're responsible for. I'm not mad at anyone for saying so. Truth is better than saving face.

Didn't that happen two years ago?

The charge is bogus. I saw "Passion of the Christ" and when I walked out of the theater, I thought that I had watched a different movie than the one the Jewish Anti-Defamation League was complaining about.

The last thing I read about Gibson was that he got arrested for DUI the other night.

Mel Gibson is an out-and-out anti-Semitic lunatic. He's 100% off-the-wall nuts and obsessed with Jews.

Anyone in Hollywood with any human decency will consider him persona non grata from now on.

(As if that hateful inciting movie he made wasn't enough)

He was drunk and out of control and said some stupid things when he was arrested. Here's what he had to say after he sobered up.

"On Saturday, Gibson released the following statement:

"After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior. They have always been there for me in my community and indeed probably saved me from myself. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse. I apologize for any behavior unbecoming of me in my inebriated state and have already taken necessary steps to ensure my return to health."

If you want to know the truth, its going to be a little hard to swallow. Hollywood is controlled by secular (non-religious) people that are offended by the movie "The Passion of the Christ". When an actor does something that offends the acting community, they are black-balled. When that happens things tend to spread like wild-fire to eradicate the persons success and expound upon every mistake and failure of the individual. ANyone in Hollyweird that plays "the game" will find there failures conveniently swept under the rug.

in the current vernacular, it is the presentation of an attitude which is anti-jews (even though "semite) could be a larger group, it has developed to refer to jews, specifically). When he gets arrested, Gibson goes on a rant against f-ing jews...this shows that he has a deep hatred of jews which the alcohol let out.

Jesus said that if they hate you remember that they hated Me first...Mel is being persecuted for being antisemitic when he is not in fact , it's only that he Christian and that he's not afraid of controversy that they accuse him of this. Just because someone is open about there Christianity does not mean they are against Jews. he did not push The Passion of the Christ on anyone...people have a choice to go see it or not go see it...as simple as that....when did he ever say that he hated Jews....making a Christian movie does not qualify for... antisemitism...I TOTALLY AGREE!
