Get a good look at them with their new lover.

You don't. That would do a great disservice to your heart, which is invested in this person. That's love for ya.

The good news is, you can come to love someone less over time. This is accomplished by having little to no contact with them for an extended period of time. How long? The longer you go, the less you will remember. Their face will fade. Their voice. Their smell. In time, all you will have is a subtle feeling inside of fondness - the remnants of love.

But you can't just stop loving someone you've had strong feelings for - not of your own will. They would need to contribute to this in some way by doing something horrible. Only then would you be able to break the tie that exists inside.

Just as you don't instantly come to love someone, you can't instantly stop loving them. Your heart and mind need time to decompress, and to have new experiences outside of the relationship you once had. That's why spending time apart is so important. If this person you are in love with is constantly around, you will always be reminded of the reasons you love him/her.

Best of luck to you...and give it time.

Awww. This will be hard to answer. You can't just stop loving someone, it's not possible. However, you can concentrate on different things and keep yourself occupied from thinking about them. Listen to music that makes you feel good. Surround yourself with close friends. Pick up a hobby. Eventually you won't think too much about this person. It'll be easier. I found it hard myself when I loved somebody. It's life, and life's not fair. I hope you find your happiness. =)

It doesn't matter if you want to stop loving somebody, if you love them you really can't help it. The only way I have ever stopped loving anybody is to have them kill my love. This can be done quickly with a heartbreaking act or a long slow death from many wounds. I once had my loved killed quickly and I thought it was the worst thing that ever happened to me until I had love killed slowly with many wounds and poisonings. I would prefer my love to die quickly than the slow death some of my love has died.

Are you suppose to? I am assuming you had a brake up with your lover. I'm sorry if this is the case. You can't stop yourself from loving another person. But through time it will get easier to let go and hopefully open your heart to someone else when you are ready.

They can make you stop loving them by doing terrible things to you too often. I agree with the person who wrote that you can still have "love' feelings for someone but realize the relationship is not beneficial for you or the other. If you'rehurting, it will ease up eventually.

You don't. If you could, then it was not really love in the first place. However, you can realize that a relationship isn't working and that it is not a healthy or beneficial relationship, even though you may still love that person.

you cant ..even if you really wanted too...love is a gift, that you gave to persons special to you and holds a part of your heart..why dyou ever want to stop love?.. when love is the reason, why were here.. learn to love the ones you trully hate , then in time you will realize that hate will eventually turn to love..
