I recently got this quote from a dealership. I know it's used but it really feels like it's still brand new. It's black and has some 17" mkw rims on it too. Carfax it and was clean. Car has 15k miles on it. Everything looks clean aside from the fact that it's used. Do you think it's a good deal if not what would be the most you would spend on it? Thank you in advance.

My Mom bought a 2005 Package 6 Prius (new, because we couldn't find any used. Amazing that you can find them used...). Ours new was about 29,000. Ours has about 16k miles on it, and it still works the same as if it was new. If you spend only a few grand more, then you could get a new 2006 Prius. The major difference is an Auxiliary audio input for an iPod or something. It depends on what you want. I would recommend buying it. They are great cars, and they are fun to ride in. The GPS is great and easy to use, and when you run out of gas, you can ride on the electric motor to the gas station. It's great!!! As for a great deal, it's a little more than I would pay for a year old car w/ 15k miles on it, but with gas prices rising, the prices are becoming more and more reasonable. Buy it!!!

Note that the US tax credit applies only to NEW and not to used hybrids.

17" rims are not OEM. OEM rims are 15".

What is the package name? package numbers changed each year...

Depending on when it was purchased new, MSRP would've been $19,995 or $20,295, plus the DPH fee, plus the option fee. Options:

So a package 6 (BC, fully loaded) would've added $5065 to the new price.

I would suggest checking kbb.com, edmunds.com, nada.com and see if it's a good deal.

Consumer Reports has consistently listed the Prius in its recommended used cars.

First off, the first few answers sound like they were written by Ford employees who have had their jobs shipped off to Mexico, so I wouldn't listen to them.

The Prius is extremely reliable and the issues with stalling was a programing glitch on a small percentage of Priuses, and it was easily corrected.

Also, you can't drive the Prius with the electric only. No gas means you can't drive.

Anyway, here's what kelly says with regards to retail value: http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ucp?kbb&32408&;803366&;;ucr;hyb&2;TO;PR

Private party (generally less re-conditioning): http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ucp?kbb.FL;;FL005;&32408&;291223&;;ucp;hyb&2;TO;PR

It seems like it's a fairly decent deal assuming it's great shape.

prius is garbage.

but if you really want one, that looks like a good price. the market for them is so tight, that dealers can just about set whatever price they want.
