There is a lot of frustration and anger in the Lebanese community against Israel for many reasons. Israel occupation of Lebanon from 1982 to 2000, lack of resolution to negotiate the Arab-israeli peace and now the killing of innocent civilians.

I don't know of they like Hezbollah, but they do hate israel. And enemy of the enemy is always the friend.

I think that the Lebanese people and government are a pan in the Middle East- they are too weak to assert their own government authority. Syria, Hezbollah, and Iran use them according to their wishes, and they become the victim caught in the crossfire.
The Syrians will fight the Israelis to the last Lebanese guy, and the Iranians would fight them through all the Syrians and THEN the last Lebanese guy.
Ridding Lebanon of Hizbollah by any means is a painful necessity, or it will just happen again.

Hezbollah is a Shiite organization and the 40% of Lebanese that are Shiite support Hezbollah. The Lebanese government can't rely on their army to stop Hezbollah because the army is also about 40% Shiite.

I am amazed as to how many ant-Semite people there are.
Lebanon (Hezbollah) started this war with a blatant act, there is no doubt. Some civilians support Hezbollah because they are
of like mind & religion, some support them for fear of retribution after war - no army to protect them, & some just do not know any different.

Yes I think many civilian Lebanese people support Hezbollah.

Hezbollah helps many charities in their country. He helps send children in Lebanon to school who would have otherwise been able to go. They are fighting Israel to protect Lebanon. If Hezbollah didn't get support from the Lebanese, they are taking their help for granted.

The Lebanese people support Hezbollah for the same reason the German people supported the Nazi, it is much easier to believe that all your problems are caused by some group of nasty people. And the they unlike the German people have the advantage of greater ignorance and more control of what they heard and see. It could not possibly be those nice Syrians or those nice Iranians who are the source of their problems, so it must be those nasty Israeli.

Even if they themselves do not support death and terror. I'm quite sure they feel like Hezbollah is the only thing between them being Lebanese or getting their land stolen by the Israelis' who would make them refugees because 1 guy out of 600 is was terrorist.

Maybe they just like Israel less? Someone up there said Hez supports charities, but the question would be for what purpose. Most likely to influence the upcoming generations. People will accept short-term help, even if that means bigger problems down the road.It ultimately exploits a need to further an agenda.

Most support it because they are thier family and friends. At leats in the areas around where these terrorist hide amoung the regular people.

But Lebanon merely is scared of them from the government level and have allowed them to run alot of activities in many areas. They are too powerful and really control the nation, and they are of course controled by Iran.
