Most depletion is caused by free radical catalysts like CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons),atomic chlorine and bromine, bromofluorocarbon compounds known as Halons all emitted from the earth's surface.

So who says ozone is being depleted? Since most here are kids, let me review the ozone depletion hoax.

In the late 80's or early 90's, NASA first obtained technology which enabled them to measure ozone. You need to understand that really well. THERE WAS NO HISTORICAL DATA AT ALL ON NORMAL OZONE LEVELS.

When they first measuredd ozone, they noted that at the poles, in the winter, north or south, ozone levels dropped way off. When the liberal one-government press dummies heard that, they went ballistic. "Something evil man is doing is destroying the ozone layer, and we are all going to die of a variety of cancers and other sun related diseases.

The scientists tried to tell them, "Hey, don't panic. We don't know what normal is." To no avail. All the liberals, all the journalists, all those who advocate turning our government over to one world government, announcedd that something man was doing was going to destroy all human life, BECAUSE THE OZONE LAYER WAS BEING DEPLETED.

After a period of time, the scientists discovered the reduction in the ozone at the poles in winter time is totally normal. Ozone is produced when the sun hits the outer atmosphere, and in the winter, the sun simply does not hit the poles. This is known to every child of education.

Nope, man is destroying the planet, and we have to do something.

Well, the patent on R-12 air conditioner freon was expiring. So, suddenly some obedient college professor found that he could run an emulation program that pretended to emulate the earth, and that program said if R-12 got up 15 miles, it could destroy the ozone.

So, we are spending several trillion dollars to replace the safest, most efficient refrigerant that is possible.

There is a major problem with this cockamamie theory.

Freon R-12 is heavy, very heavy. Years ago, a refrigeration man came into m area and opened a valve, allowing the freon in our giant coolers to escape right into our closed building. I went ballistic. He laughed and asked me if I could smell it. Um, no. He explained R-12 is so heavy that it instantly seeks the lowest point. So, I have seen the perfecf demonstration of just how heavy R-12 is.

ROCKS DON'T FLY! NOR DOES R-12 FLOAT UP 15 MILES.

AND THERE IS NO OZONE DEPLETION, EITHER. Continued measurement shows that there is a small variation from year to year, and definitely when the sun doesn't hit the poles, ozone there virtually goes away, just as it did 10,000 years ago, and just as it will 10,000 years in the future.

We have so many computers in the US. We supposedly have such great access to so much information. Yet, we are the most ignorant nation in the world. No matter how big a hoax the press gives us, the vast majority of our people can't use simple math and science to sort out the truth.

and, when someone does, immediately he is accused of being stupid and ignorant.

It happens all the time. For example, in OKC, we are told nitrogen fertilizer cut beams in the office building. No matter that the forces required to cut steel beams are much higher than can be produced by any quanitity of nitrogen fertilizer. Everyone believes it as if it were on a stone tablet from a mountain top.

Left-wing media hysteria.

Scientists don't know that the ozone layer has not been doing exactly what it's doing now for centuries. It's the same as global warming. In the 70's they said we were headed for a new ice age.

Don't believe everything you hear and read. Research both sides of the issues before making your decisions.
