You have to wipe the fur under their eyes everyday and get the sleep deposits out or it will stain their fur. You will have to cut off the fur and let new grow back but keep it clean after that.

Do NOT use bleach as in the last answer! Go to a pet store and ask for the best product to remove the stains. It will be safe for your dog and get the desired result.

Keep the hair trimmed really short there. You can put Vaseline over the hair in that area to keep the stains from sticking. They also make preparations that you can use to wash the stains out but they are very hard to use and don't work very well IMO. The best way I have found it to just trim the hair!

There are produces at the store that are supposed to help with this. There is one called Crystal Eyes that I've used before and it did work but you have to be very diligent about using it everyday before you really start to see results.

i have 2 white boxers, and i buy the shampoo, for white dogs, and its pretty good, but also you can add a bit of pure canned pumpkin daily to their food, and it will help stop the staining under the eyes

Try baking soda. It is safe and a cleanser that won't hurt your pet. Does your pet have allergies that makes their eyes water?

Buy a "whitening" shampoo for dogs and use it when you bathe him/her. That should work.
