Fat free and skim milk is the same.

Whole milk is 4% fat
low fat is 2% fat
1% is 1% fat
Skim or fat free is 0 % fat.

They changed the way it was marketed because saying fat free sounded better and sold more

My family drinks the 1%, I just can not get over that bluish tinge in the Fat free.

What Percent Is Skim Milk

2016-10-28 11:07:18 · answer #4 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Whole Milk - 150 Calories - 8g Fat
2% Milk - 120 Calories - 4.5g Fat
1% Milk - 100 Calories - 2.5g Fat
Skim Milk - 80 Calories - 0g Fat

I would've said they were different, but according the web, skim milk has calories, but no fat.

Then I checked out the calories found in "fat free" milk and I found this:

(Calories 296)

Looks like Skim milk wins with no fat, but way less calories!

They're the same. Skim milk has had all the fat removed, therefore it is fat free.

skimmed milk is milk with LESS fat, its not completely fat free milk.
yes, its good for health. u can try this at home. boil the milk, allow it to cool down and then remove the outer layer of cream. this wil definitely make it skimmed.
u can do this 2-3 times to reduce the fat.
another thng, if u r young u shud hve skimmed milk and not completely fat free one. as u grow up u divert to fat free milk.

Whole milk is 4 % fat. Low fat is 2% fat. You can get 1 %. Skim milk is essentially fat free.Regular cream is 20% fat. Heavy cream for whipping is 40% fat. Half and half is half whole milk and half cream.
