one of my closest friends is a muslem and she is always cryin alot coz she wears a muslem vale and everybody makes fun of her in a racist way, and i see that happen alot... i mean dont people know that these terrorists arent muslem... terrorism is against their religion... i mean its so wrong, its like its impossible for a muslem to live in america and not be judged, and besides there are so many bazaar religions out there but people are never racist against them, shouldnt we just leave everyone wether muslem, juwish, christian...etc. alone, like treat them nicely and leave the judgement up to god?

People are always afraid of what is different, and many feel threatened by it. The ones that act on that fear and lash out at those who are different are racists. Your friend represents something scary and threatening because she is different, and they can't understand her or her motivations. Right now the Muslims are in the racist spotlight, but it's always someone. The Hispanics are also being targeted now with the anti-illegal campaign. When I was a kid, it was mainly blacks and gays (who are still in the racist Top Ten).

And people are prejudiced against other religions, right now Jews the world over are having problems because of the actions of Israel, and Christians are always suspicious of Catholics (who I always thought were Christians, but what do I know?). Christians in China are being subject to appalling persecutions, as are the Tibetan Buddhists. Two thousand years ago, the Christians were being thrown to the lions, now the Christians want to throw the Muslims to the lions. It's human nature, sad to say.

You have to support your friend by educating people about what Muslims are REALLY like. When people mock her, you must tell them why they are wrong. It's the duty of all good people to help end the hatred.

Muslims in America have had a rough time of it since 9/11. I realize there are some people in this country who have never liked Muslims, but I think even people who never thought that way are now sensitive to what happened to all those people at the WTC -- They see your friend wearing a vale, and some of these people may unjustly see it as a slight against the victims of 9/11. Tell her to practice judging every person as an individual, it is very difficult to do this, but she will be a much stronger person in the long run. I experience a different type of prejudice on a daily basis to some degree, and in order to maintain my humanity I tell myself it is not the physical characteristics of the individuals, but the mindset. I will not allow such people to make me become what I despise in human behavior.

People can be very cruel and that is something that starts out in childhood. See we are drawn to things that we feel comfortable with, and we are repelled by things that make us uncomfortable. That is just human nature and in some cases that is safe for that to be the case. However when you put emotions in to the mix that is were problems come about.

Hate is a very strong emotion, second only to love. Hate enjoys the company of like minded people or itself. Hate feeds off others that hold the same ideas and feelings. See hate by itself is a coward and can not stand along, it has to be in the company of others. That is where hate gets its power from. It needs to be around others just like itself, it is the only way that it can survive.

Love however is just the opposite. It is much harder yet the pay off is so much better.

Well, I just asked a similar question. I did six years in prison. It is hard not to be racist in there, when you get beat up because your skin is white. But still, most people are drones, and follow on the band-wagon. It is just a mark of stupidity. I'm sorry that the people over there are causing trouble for true Muslims. It sucks, but then again life sucks......

Well, the world is a twisted place. As long as there are people, there will always be conflicts of some kind.

It's just a curse we have. Prejudice is wrong, but I'm sure if we look at ourselves a little bit closer we can see that we have prejudices against some people too.

i do think that we should leave everyone alone. It dosen't matter if they are muslim or not it's their life and we have no right to judge anyone. That, and lots of people are just @$$holes who needs to get a F#$%&*@ hobby and mind their own business!!!!
If i were you, i'd be kicking @$$.
I wish there was something i could do to help you and your friend.
Have a nice day.
p.s.
don't let those bastards get to you and tell your friend the same because, last i checked their opinion doesn't matter and 'if they don't have nothing nice to say then don't say nothing!"
have a nice day.

That would be great, but Muslims are taught that the goal of Islam is to rid the world of non-Muslims. Your friend should consider why she is a Muslim. If it was because it's how she was raised, she should consider reading what the Koran REALLY says, and how brutal and murderous Mohammed was, and Islam IS.

If she doesn't want to do anything but be a Muslim, I'm afraid to say life will not be safe for her as time goes on.... as the Muslims become more violent, hatred of them will spread.

Your sentiments are correct but people by nature stick with what they know. There own people. Most Sunni Muslims hate the Shiite Muslims and vice versa. This does not make it right.
Stick to your convictions and spread peace and love.

Are you asking or answering? Anyway, as you aptly said, not everybody ! Its just the way some people are raised. My advice to you is this, Do not ALLOW yourself to be affected by their faults, no need to make yourself suffer. Point out to them what is correct to you and leave it at that!
