The thing about the Parousia is that it is ALWAYS imminent. It was as close to happening yesterday as it is today and will be tomorrow and yet at the same time it is always moving closer.
The end, whether that be the Final Coming or our own death, is always to be looked to in a spiritual or mystical sense as ever forth-coming and as ever nearer.
This Mystery of the Christian Faith explains why both the Apostles and us 20 centuries later can both expect the Lord's Return "soon".

I do believe it's closer, but not quite there yet!
There still needs to be a new Jewish Temple (the antichrist is to come into it and say that he is God), and there needs to be a war first that will kill 1/3rd of the world's population that starts in the area of the Euphrates River (Iraq).
We will need to be a cashless society (RFID chip will help that!), and a one world religion and government system set up.
All of these are in the making!
The Jewish Temple: already they have all of the equipment for the interior, and they are working out a plan to rebuild the Temple now!
We are in a war that is in Iraq.
The RFID chip can be (and has been!) implanted under your skin with your personal information in it.
Interfaithism has been launched.
And you're seeing one world government working right now with the United Nations being involved in everything!
It's time to pray like never before!
Pray for the salvation of the lost-God knows those that are His!

It is said that the end of the world will come like a thief in the night, that no one will know the exact day or time, so yes and no here.
I think that we are seeing things promised: false messiahs, rumors of wars, etc. but at the same time I don't think that that should change how we are living. We will all see G*d pretty soon one way or another

I don't think anyone except God knows for sure about that.
As to the Mayan calender, that is not the literal end of the world. It is considered the end of the age and the beginning of a new one. But nowhere in Mayan mythology does it talk about the 'end of the world'.
To be specific on 21 December 2012, that is considered the end of the 13th-baktun of the Mayan Long Count (system of time keeping). And to bore you even further, that is only 1/5th of the Great Great Cycle. (Each Great Cycle lasting 5125.36 years.)

Yeah, it's quite scary that all those things are coming true now. The Mayans' calender predicted the end of the world is coming on 2012. However, I should point out that Nostrodamus predicted that the end of the world will come after the third anti-christ but we haven't really seen that yet (unless you think Bush is the anti-christ...).

I think it COULD be, but when I was growing up my mom said it was rapture time almost every time we watched the 6:00 news. I guess I became used to it.
After I grew up and tried to throw my life away with both hands, I saw the truth of her faith. I don't believe everything just like she does, but our core belief is the same.
My point is, yes, what is going on could be the end of days, and there is a part of me that wants that to be the case. But I guess I just don't want to get my hopes up.

the rapture is not going to happend until the seventh trump, read cor. and the test of faith that is coming on the whole world at the rise of the antichrist every body is going to go through! So if you have been taght that you wont be here when the antichrsit comes you have been decieved. read 2thes2. it says you will see the antichrist going into the temple and claiming to be God,and that is at the middle!

You said: "Maranatha! Christ come quickly!"
So... another plea for the destruction of the world and the annihilation of the 'unbelievers', from the Abrahamic death cult of desert monotheism?
How human and moral of you.

they are not Jews with the aid of fact Jew's do no longer have confidence the messiah has come yet. they do no longer have confidence Jesus so believing in Jesus and asserting your Jewish needless to say contradicts one yet another.... it is unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". end this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.
