If you live in the area where your boyfriend is stationed have him get you the number or e-mail to the FRG ( family readyness group for those of you wondering) leader. Then just call her/him up and ask when the next meeting is and tell her you want to be involved. I'm sure they would love to have you.
Don't be afraid, we spouses are for the most part looking out for each other and girlfriends/fiancees count the same.
I added the website for Ft. Carson.

You should have no problem joining the FRG. Have your boyfriend get the FRG leaders info from his chain of command then call them. They will be able to give you more information on their specific Family Readiness Group.

FRG-family readiness group. I'm not sure if you can, since you're not technically part of the Army family. However, there are ways around that. There are lots of groups online (and maybe even in your area if there's a high concentration of soldiers there). I'll try to get some links to you if I can find them. You can do a search on MSN or Yahoo groups to find them also.
But if you need someone to talk to, feel free to message me. I'm a military wife.

Call the Military Personnel Office at your nearest base for starters. I believe they are paid positions run by the military, not civilian. However, there is always the USO, also at your nearest base.
Both are great groups to be a part of. Good luck.

Go to his Company and they have an officer there that will give you a contact for the Family Readiness. They usually hold monthly meetings.
