even when i use my dvd player or vcr, there is no color. What could cause this then? Is it time to buy a new tv or could this be fixed?

Depending on the age and type of your TV a power surge could cause that to happen. But that would be rare for that to be the only thing that went wrong.

Not likely. A direct strike will vaporaize most of the circuits. Even indirect circuit will cause damages severe enough for it to not turn on, or even if it did, all you would see is noise.

No. If lightening strikes your TV it will blow it up. Also, if you get a big power surge it can totally fry it.

And the answer is...no. If lightning hit it you would probably have no picture/sound at all. Sounds like your color circuitry is fried or your settings have been tampered with.

Not likely. Have you tried adjusting Tint/Color levels and see if anything changes?

check your controls (color, picture, tint,etc.)lighting can do funny things to eeproms
