Yes. If the child is very poorly behaved and poses a risk to the other children or creates an environment that impedes the learning of the other children. In a group situation, sometimes the needs of the many must outweigh the needs of the few.

yes, most preschool reserve that right in the contract you sign when signing on with them. Look over that contract. However if your child has special needs ( a diagnosis like autism or ADHD ) no they are not they are required to do what it takes as long as it doesnt put the school out a lot of money to help the child, but usually they can find sholarships and grants to help. unfortunately preschools overlook this all the time and expel the child anyway because they are too much trouble and it might not be where they want to spend their money. So special needs parents are left with nothing. Sad huh?

Yes a child can be expel from any school if there is a problem.
I taught 4 year old Kindergarten for 9 years. We had a little boy that came up through our school that none of the teachers wanted and the mother was always making excuses for his behaviors. I told our director let put him in my class and let me see what I can do. The teachers couldn't believe what a difference there was in my class than when he was in there classes. They asks me what I did. I said I paid attention to him and showed him that he was loved and that I knew he could be good. I used a treasure chest in my class and at the end of the week if they didn't go to the red light during the week they got to go to the treasure chest. This little boy went to the red light a copy of times but I always gave him a hug and a sticker and told him I knew that next week it would be different and that he would get to go to the treasure chest. I think that if we show a child that we love them and really care about them that we can make a difference in a child's life.

Yes, a child can get expelled from a pre-school. A child once got expelled for bring a knife to school and pulled it out on the teacher. He told her he was going to kill her because she put him in timeout. His mother tried to say he found it on the playground. But the child had already told the police officer that he got it off of his mother's dresser.

A preschool can definitely expel a child. However, a good preschool should do everything possible to work with the child's issues. Behaviors should not be an issue for expulsion. I work at a center for children with disabilities, and several of our children have come to us from other preschools. Several of them have been expelled from several preschools, and finally found us. The major issues for expulsion are usually effort and staffing. Children who are behavior problems in preschool are generally a problem because the center does not have the staff to deal with them. With centers running at 12 children to 1 staff member, there is not enough hands to deal with the child. Problems can not be dealt with before they occur, and there is no one available to be near the child at all times. Without the staffing, the child is not worth the effort, and so they are sent off for someone else to deal with. Perhaps if states had a more manageable ratio, there would be more appropriate staffing, and children wouldn't fall through the cracks and perpetuate a cycle of failure for the child. Until staff to child ratios are lowered, children will continue to be expelled for behavior problems.

As a preschool assistant I can tell you yes they can. If the child is a danger to others, does not follow directions and always has to have the adult right next to them because they will not behave they can and should be put out. When your dealing with anywhere from 12 to 24 (half & full day preschool) 3&4 year olds you do not have time to babysit one hardheaded child. You must remember preschool is not mandatory therefore they have the right to exclude a child.

A pre school is a private business, As with any other business, they can choose not do do business with certain people. If the have a problem with the parents, or if the child is not fitting in, for whatever reason, then they can refuse to allow the child to continue with them.

Any private school can expel a child, I know that. They usually do it if the child has behavioral issues which affect / disrupt the class.
I would think that a preschool would carefully screen kids to see if they're mature enough to be at school....if not, then they shouldn't admit them.

Absolutely...it is up to the parent to socialize a child so that the child is not totally uncontrollable in pre-school. If a child is a danger to others or a health risk etc. then they have the right to refuse enrollment.

If the child has special needs and the pre-school is not equipped to cope with it then yes, expulsion is possible if all other options have been explored and discussed with his parents or caregiver; and this course of action is deemed to be in the best interest of all parties concerned.
