I agree with the first post. Avoid giving the child synthetic sweetneers and make sure that it's caffine free. Along with that you should start with a small amount to make sure that you child isn't going to have a bad reaction to it. Over caution yes. But it's better to be over caution then careless.

It should be ok if it contains Splenda, but not if it contains any of the artificial sweeteners (aspartame, etc). For a treat, I give my 2 year old daughter just regular old iced tea made from tea (with a little bit of lemon) but no sugar. Since she's never had tea with sugar, she doesn't know the difference (and drinks it up!).

Crystal Lite caused my friend severe migranes due to the aspartame in it. I would never drink anything with aspartame, never the less give it to a child. Unsweetened fruit juices are much healthier and lots of water.

Why not brew some natural tea and ice it?? Then you know there are no sweetners or artificial preservatives? We have become such a lazy society. I cut my own veggies and mash them, etc. No, I'm not a stay at home mom either.

Please read these links. We should not use any artificial sweeteners for ourselves, let alone our kids. Not to mention, giving a child that young caffeine is not a good idea, either. Instead, make regular lemonaide, and just use less sugar, if she'll drink that.

Aspartame--basically, it converts to formaldehyde once in our bodies.

No. There are certain preservatives and artificial flavoring that can give a toddler diarrhea. Try giving her Welch's grape juice, mother.

unless you're worried about what health effects aspartame has (which I think are NONE) then it should be fine. A lot better than giving her Kool-Aid

It has aspartame in it and there are no conclusive studies if it is harmful or not (they say to avoid it when pregnant) so I would say give her something else
