I get a lot of ideas from www.HGTV.com. If you click on the TV show, Design on a Dime, they show rooms that they redecorated on a budget of $1000 for the whole room.
Do you have any art on the walls? I buy inexpensive art and then buy frames from www.AmericanFrame.com. They have beautiful frames and great prices.
I bought some inexpensive iron wall sconces for my dining room on E-bay. Then I bought round candles at Target to go in the sconces. If you get ideas for decorating on www.HGTV.com or elsewhere, you can look on E-bay for inexpensive pieces to get the look you want.
Good luck!

The success of any decorating scheme depends on how well it suits all the members of your family. To create a décor that you will be happy with, think about what you want and also what you don’t want.
It’s a good idea to know what you have before you begun to change things. As you begin to pull your design ideas together, think about your preference and what will work in your home.
Color can work wonders... it can change the look of a room and change your feeling about the room. You can start by looking through magazines, and catalogs. Give yourself plenty of time, it will take longer than you think, and your ideas will develop as you go.
Gathering samples is a great way to begin. If you are starting with a color, your samples might include fabric, paint chips, wallpaper, carpet, wood, stone, and tile.
Knowing what you can spend on a project will give you a clearer idea of what you can achieve. If you’ll on a limited budget, mark off those things that will make the most difference, such as a new wall color and a new sofa.
You can set the mood of a room in lots of ways, such as lights, and furnishings. There are no hard or fast rules or must-do sequence for this process.

What a gorgeous rich color!
It's something you'll want to compliment.
Greens would look pretty with this color, even some purples or blues. Because it's such a warm color with warm trim and inlade cabinets, it's a good idea to get some opposite hews in there, like what I mentioned.
Mirrors are great in dining rooms because they reflect light and make the place appear larger, and the food more abundant! It's friendly, giving a feeling that more visitors are there, too. Get a big mirror and frame it. Jones Paint and Glass sells mirrors, but you can go to lots of different places to find one. Put it on the wall opposite a window. On either side of the mirror you can put wall candle holders or something like that, but make them big, too.
A rug would be really good to put into this room to warm up the hardwood floor. Wood floors are a MUST to have a rug. I suggest something that you find attractive and that really catches your eye that has many different patterns, colors and shapes in it. Bright colors best. Go for colors of greens, blues, purples, burnt oranges, etc. Whatever that can match the walls and the other colors you choose to decorate with.
Wood blinds would be okay in this room with an elegant drapery to go around the windows to frame them. Use brass/gold colored hardware and frames and curtain rods, they might look the best against that color paint on the walls. You can put up fabric with a large print on them. A cream or offwhite background would be good with the large print consisting of green, oranges and reds, blues and purples. Maybe one of big flowers or something that would match the style to the rug somewhat (you don't want it to look tacky together... blah!).
I like the idea of putting slip covers on the chairs. Get the ones with the big ties in the back of them, or have some made to match the drapes a little. Don't make them the same exact fabric, though, or it might be a bit too much. Find a fabric that's very similar to the drapery but with a smaller print, and have a variety of colors in it as well.
A chandalier hanging over the table would be very nice. Gold/brass of course. Don't make it too fancy, just pretty and sparkly.
Other pictures you could put up on the walls could be long, narrow ones that come in a set. Walmart even has these. You can get ones that are in a set that have a slightly different flower in each one, or something like that. Putting one in between each window would be pretty. Don't put pictures around the mirror, though. It would detract from the power of the mirror and make that wall look too cluttery.
Even painting stencils along the tops of the walls would be nice, in a matching design with softer colors. You don't want the same exact bright and bold colors here. Just that soft peach color, that cream or offwhite might be okay, a soft red, green, whatever.
And live flowers are always so beautiful and enticing in dining rooms. Keeping fresh flowers in there brings it alive and makes it welcoming. Or, get fake ones. Whatever matches your taste.
Good luck! Need any more advice feel free to ask!

Do you have draperies? Blinds on windows always look good when covered up with some curtains or something. Pick a contrasting color, or a little color in your dishes, paintings, etc, and get the drapes in that color, or do a valance in a color. Sounds like a warm, inviting room..what about slip covers on chairs to make them look more formal. All that fabric will change the look of the room dramaticly, maybe then you can throw in a rug or paintings and set the table with a great centerpeice to go with it all and wrap it up.
