Not sure how much. Depends on the vet. Some price per pound of animal. I know that doesn't sound right. What I mean is the amount of euthanasia they have to use. My vet charged us 40.00 dollars to put our 90 pound lab to sleep and dispose of the body. It all depends on the cost of living and prices where u live. I'm so sorry to hear that u have to do this. I do understand. Just remember that u'r Sheppard had a good life w/ u and u will see her again.

Call different vets to find out the price. They will probably want to know her weight because the major expense in euthanasia is the cost of disposal, the actual drugs are not that expensive. Contact your local humane society or animal control services to see if they offer this service. In my county, if you are a resident, animal control will perform the euthanasia as a public service free of charge. I'm terribly sorry for what you have gone through already and what you will experience euthanizing your pet. Just know that if she is suffering, you have made a very unselfish decision to let her go on without enduring any more pain. I'm sorry.

I am truly sorry to hear about your dog. I have to see this just about everyday. It is heart wrenching. But if your dog is suffering you are doing the right thing.

As far as price goes. It's typically anywhere from 30.00 to 60.00. Some vets go by your pets weight & others just a flat rate. I do know that if you choose cremation & wish to get ashes back it is very costly. Upwards of 200.00 depending on weight.
Best bet is to call your veterinarian & get a price.

Sorry for your situation my thoughts & prayers are with you.

Please call your veterinarian. He'll let you know, as well as what options you have with handling of your pet afterward. I had my dog (which was a smaller breed) for 16 years before his quality of life changed.

The price of the euthanasia was around the same as others have said, but I wanted to keep my faithful companion, so I asked for his ashes, which was an additional $150. I received a nice oak box with a card of sympathy, and nothing too over the top. I have a new dog, and will probably do the same.

My condolences on the loss of your friend.

Depends on vet - prices are different...it also depends on if you elect to have her cremated, have ashes returned, etc. Some people elect to take their pet home to burry them...call a clinic and ask - they should be able to give you a quote over the phone. They might ask how much your dog weighs in order to give you an estimate.

I would say the range would be anywhere from ~$50 - $200+

The price is usualy determined by the size of the dog. The vet has to use a certain amount of serume to do the job swiftly and painlessly. I'm glad your considering your dogs QUALITY of life instead of being selfish on going for quantity.

I am truly sorry, I have lost many friends in death also.
Call a local vet. and an ASPCA. I hope you and your shepherd spend those last moments together no matter how hard it seems. I know I needed to hold them in my arms while they went to sleep, It is final for you and you will see that your friend is not suffering anymore. Again I am so sorry.

I just had my 14 year old dog put to sleep and it cost me $30 for the euthenasia and $30 for the burial. So sorry about your Shepard. I know how it hurts.

Just call your vet and ask. It shouldn't really matter though. If its time to have her put to sleep, I can't imagine you wouldn't because it might cost you a couple of bucks. That would just be inhumane.

I am sorry for you and your pet.
I lost an old friend of 21 years recently, and still have hole in my heart where he used to be.
My vet charge was less than $20
