Stretch marks can be caused by pants that are too tight. I am sure this is not the only correct answer, just one possible answer that is a correct answer.
Below is From Wikipedia, the free on-line encyclopedia.
Stretch marks are a form of scarring generally associated with pregnancy, obesity, bodybuilding and puberty. They result from overstretching of the skin, which disrupts the normal production of collagen, causing a scar.

Gaining or losing weight quickly can cause stretch marks. Growing can also cause them. I know men who have stretch marks on their arms because their muscles got too big. When you gain or lose weight quickly, your skin doesn't have enough time to adjust. Therefore it stretches out and has those weird marks. I've never been pregnant, or fat. But I've gained and lost weight very quickly for various reasons, and I now have stretch marks on my hips and some on my thighs. Don't worry about them too much. They fade a lot over time.

Well, you're rather tall. And I'm guessing you maybe grew 3-5in rapidly. A good way to tell what kind of stretch marks you have is by the way they are on your body. If they are vertical (up & down) then that's usually, from growing wider. Whether overweight or not, your body, especially around your hips, grows outward more. If they are horizontal (left to right line) then they are from growing taller. I have the vertical ones on my breasts, cause they grew VERY fast when I was younger. And I have the horizontal ones on my hips & bottom. I don't like them...but they are what they are. And for me, using creams and such never helped one bit. But it's worth a try as everyone's skin is different.

This is a two part question
1. why do you have stretch marks
2. what is the cause
Answer 1. BECAUSE UR FAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer 2. Mickey D's; Burger King and the many other places you visit and keep eating at. ALso lack of exercise.
Seriously if you have stretch marks they are there because your weight has changed (gone up or down) too fast for your skin cells to adjust - Thus leaving the not so pretty stretch marks. Stretch marks are not directly related to being pregnant; They are related to being fat and the skin stretching

If you're overweight, your skin stretches to adjust to it's size. Even after you've losed those extra weight, you're still stuck with the stretch marks. You may want to try using a stretch mark cream to reduce the redness of the marks.

You don't necessary have to have been PREGNANT just to get stretch marks. You have stretch mark probably because you were over weight and your body was stretched to it's limit and now you probably lost the weight slowly but now you are left with the marks... It did not just happen to you it happens to a lot of people..

Actually, you get stretch marks when you gain and lose weight quickly (so that your skin can't quite keep up with you). Pregnancy is just one of those instances and is frequently talked about, but there are many causes. Sometimes, it's just because you grew quickly (i.e. had a growth spurt).
Moisturizers help (both during & after) and Strivectin, in particular, is really good for stretchmarks.

Men get stretch marks and they are never pregnant. It is caused by usually weight gain. Sorry hunny they never go away. You may try going to the tanning bed that seems to make them less noticable. It really stinks but they will be with you for ever.

rapid weight gain or loss causes the skin to "tear" if you will and that causes the stretch marks -
Stretch marks are caused when the skin is stretched to the point of breaking down, similar to elastic losing its' elasticity. Losing collagen and elastin in the skin causes stretch marks, loss of tone, fine lines and wrinkles. When there is a breakdown or loss of elastin and collagen fibers or excessive stretching in the skin, the mark actually shows through to the epidermis (top layer of skin).

When your skin stretches, like a woman's belly during a pregnancy, when the docter stretches your skin during an operation, or when you've gained weight and lost it, you will usually get stretchmarks. Most skin medications for mothers to cope with this problem, is for applying as your skin is stretching, to reduce their appearance. There isn't much you can do after they are there though, except to apply a fade cream if they are darker than your skin, and keep them moisterized to prevent further skin damage.
