I’m amazed at the mass amount bitterness that you religious/atheists are generating, you sound like the internet version of the middle east! So, what’s going to happen when the new JEDI religion takes off? Will we have a bunch of robe-clad wieners running around with light-sabers, hacking up people who disagree with The Force? This is precisely why we should not mix religion and science (mainly technology).

Don't knock the Jedi's. They are a rapidly growing force (excuse the pun) especially in Australia!

Australia is about to have a census. Basically every household in the country fills out a big questionairre about all the people who are living or staying in that address on the day. It is actually anonymous so no personal info can be used against anyone. The government uses this information to guide its policies, budgets, etc. It happens every five or so years. Funny thing is that a decade or so ago someone suggested that people should put in "Jedi Knight" for their religion just as a joke. In the last census enough people responded with that answer to make it an official religion (except the govt knows it's a joke). This time the number is expected to be much higher.

The Force is strong Down Under.

Naaaaaaaaa, it'll never happen.

The whole Jedi Philosophy is based on Hindu/Buddhist theology. You won't find a bigger bunch of "whatever makes you happy, makes me happy" people anywhere!

"Everything" is true. "Nothing" is a lie. There are no "absolutes". Even "evil" is ultimately part of "good". Did you see the last movie?

Don't worry about the disagreements you see here. People just tend to disagree on things, sometimes strongly. It's kind of like what goes on in a Senatorial debate, just sometimes NOT AS BORING.

Generating bitterness? Hardly. Expressed, maybe, but not generated. There are some people that just have issues they can't figure out how to handle (appropriately).

faith, via my definition, is the repetitive prepare of convincing your self and others that fiction is fact. The Jedi (in the event that they have been actual authentic) actual had what we would evaluate supernatural powers. they only shown that fact became fact. hence, the Jedi weren't religious, neither is there any data that they have been theist. They worshipped and respected the ability conferred upon them contained in the direction of the midichlorians of their blood.
