What that orange thing be buzzing in the back of my tv.

That is a filament. Don't open it because it can give you a bad shock. If it is buzzing it might mean it's time to get a new TV.

Even transistorized TV's still have one tube, the picture tube. It has a high voltage filament in the back to produce electrons to strike the phosphors on the screen to produce light. A CRT Monitor works the same way.

Newer LCD and other various "flat panel" devices have replaced the picture tube with something else.

if it's an old t.v it's a vacuum bulb.
