May I ask you a question? How many Christians do your really know? Not from here, but around where you live or work? Do you know any beyond a surface level relationship? You may be surprised that they are not the stereotypes that you may hear about. Just because someone on here claims to be Christian doesn't make it so. You can tell the believers by their "fruit", that is, attitudes and actions in keeping with what is taught in the Bible. Here's a rule of thumb for people on here and in general, if they continually display attitudes and actions that are not in keeping with the teachings of Scripture, they are probably not believers. We all sin, we all mess up, but I am talking about a consistent pattern of actions or behavior.

Actually, yes, I can see what you're saying. No religion or sect preaches hate, but different people in those religions interpret things how they want to. A good example of that is the Westboro Baptist Church (the ones who picket the funerals of soldiers).

I don't see religions in general as being hateful. Sure, there are those individuals and even sub-groups that are, but I honestly do not think that they are the majority. I still believe that most humans are more positive towards each other than negative.

Perhaps we are looking at the same half-full/half-empty glass?

Religion is a thing, a philosophy, an intangible thought process. Religions do not preach or have emotions.

Humans are capable of hate; thoughts and beliefs are not.

Yes, it is just you. The only things you seem to have based your thoughts on the matter is what you hear in the news and the actions of an extreme few.

we are all human and religion is full of human beings ...so with that said we all have faults and we all sin and we all have emotions and none of us are perfect...so whether one is religious or not we are all going to act the same some times because we are all going through the same things and have the same emotions and such...
