My 2 1/2 year old will pee on the potty all by herself, wipe and even wash her hands with no help whatsoever. But no matter what I do she will not poop on the potty. Has anyone else had this problem? What worked for you? I'm so tired of cleaning poop out of panties.

She holds it until she has an accident, I have tried putting her on the potty, she has held it for 4 days before, I've tried rewards except I can't give her the reward for doing it if she won't do it in the first place. I haven't tried making her clean it up I will try that next time, I hate the thought of the mess she will make

I will never use pull ups again, they are the diaper companies way to keep making money from you. If it looks and feels like a diaper they will use it like a diaper, its what they have been doing their whole lives. Think about it if your child gets potty trained quickly and easily, thats $20 a week that the diaper company loses from each family. Trust me they want to keep kids from being potty trained. go to www.easypottytraining.com my daughter has trouble with pooping in the potty but this worked for peeing in 2 days and it only cost $12.

Make her clean out her own panties. this is what I had to do with my son. after he cleaned them out a few times he thought it was gross and started pooping in the potty.
Good Luck!!

I wouldn't have her clean it up. I think that's kind of mean. They have been going in their diapers their whole life, so be nice. Here is what worked for me:
Here it is- it has worked for my 2 kids, and others after I tell them........
1. get m and m's handy
2. get a small potty chair
3. get a couple books about potty
4. you need to be home for about 4-5 days straight
5. now you can start. let them run around bare-but
6. Set the timer for 1/2 hour. Tell him/her to sit on the potty for 5 min. (read them a book in the mean time if it's to long for them.) If they go, give lots and lots of praise!!! I mean go crazy!! Give them about 3 m and m's.
7. Set the timer for 1/2 hour
8. Avoid asking the question "you got to go potty?'
9. Timer goes off- ok! What does that mean junior? Time to go potty again he or she would say, or you say it if they don't
10. repeat process all day long. If they go # 2 in the potty, reward with a handful of m and m's. They are very colorful and kids love them!!
11. Praise praise praise. I do spank my kids for behavior problems such as lying, disobedience, and bad attitudes, but never for having an accident. If there is an accident, clean it up queitly, and don't say much at all. Remind them it's ok, but try to make it in the potty next time, or in your own words.
Good luck!!! Hope this helps you. My 2 year old girl was potty-trained in one day with the method. Took my 2 1/2 year old son a week. Leave pull-ups on them at night just in case.
p.s. if this doen't work at all, try again in a few months.

A little more patience will go a long way. I know it sounds impossible to have more patience but your children are watching you and will learn to relax if you're more understanding for whatever the reason of why she will not poop on the potty. I don't know of any child that enjoys poop on her bottom either. If you're upset with her then she is more apt to having accidents and being rebelious towards even thinking of using the toilet to poop.
It will happen and it will be when she feels good about the toilet issue.

If she has friends you might get them to pressure her. But at 2 1/2 that may be a bit young.
A friend took her daughter to the store and let her pick out her own panties. The mother praised her daughter on how beautiful they were. I.e., the mother tried to instill pride in her daughter in hopes that her daughter would be more careful about the care of her panties. When there was an accident, the mother helped the daughter wash her 'pretty' panties, so that they would be beautiful again.
My friend said it worked. Try it and keep smiling.
Good luck,

We struggled with this, too.
We tried all kinds of bribes. And not bribes. We tried everything we could imagine.
One day, though, she just made up her mind, and she hasn't had an accident of any kind since. Not even over night. She did great.
Your daughter knows what you want her to do. Now she just has to want to do it herself. And there's not much you can do except be supportive. Let her wear pull-ups so you're not constantly washing out her pants. And let her tell you when she's ready to take the next step.

I made a potty chart for my daughter that eally worked for her. Each time she used the toliet, she got a sticker. After five stickers, she got a prize, like picking out a movie. Just be consistent with whatever you do and be patient.

She's 2 1/2 cleaning her own panties isn't a good idea that could really back fire on you. try showing her your bm in the toliet when you go so she can see poop goes there to not just cause you say she might just have to see it.

Have you tried putting her on the potty shortly after eating? This seemed to help with my two girls.
