Angel,
There are many leaders in the Christian movement, who say the Law, has been set aside. If you want to know how Jesus felt about all that, read Mathew 5-17. He makes it crystal clear, that anyone who breaks the least of the Commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called "Least", in the Kingdom of God. However, He also said something else. When asked which was the greatest Commandment, He said that Loving God, with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, was it. The second, was just like it, love your neighbor, as yourself. He said that on these two things, hangs all the Law and the Prophets. If you examine the Commandments carefully, they are not religious rules. They are the Code of Conduct, for all of those who live in the civilized Universe of God. After God is finished cleaning up the mess from Lucifer's Rebellion, there will be no place, for those who live selfishly, and are willing to hurt others. If you do not have God's Will, written in your heart, you will not be around to break any Commandments. It is not keeping the letter of the Law, that matters. It is the Spirit of the Law. If you break the Law, someone is going to get hurt. Either God, or your neighbor. You must possess a spirit within you, that is unwilling to hurt another. Remember, The Kingdom of God, is within you.

Every commandment must be followed to get to heaven. Even failure on one point is the mark of a sinner, condemned to hell by a just God who cannot look on sinfulness (but let's get real, who has only sinned once?)
The bible says there is none good. So will God turn away a "good person"? If you have lied, stolen, lusted, hated or blasphemed, are you a good person? If God judges you by THAT standard, will you go to heaven or hell?
God made a way for us to have righteousness so He can accept us into heaven. That is by repenting and turning from our sin, and trusting Jesus as our savior and the payment for our sins through His death on the cross. The bible says there is no other way.

Two, you must love Jehovah your God with all your heart, all your soul, with all your mind, and with your whole strength, and you must love your neighbor as yourself, upon these two commandments all the prophets and the law hangs. You won't get into heaven as that's only for 144,000 faithful anointed followers, but you would gain everlasting life on a paradise earth. You need to exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus and do the will of God.

That's the beauty of Religion, you don't have to follow ANY commandments at all, you are allowed to behave in any way you like, do anything you want, the only catch is this....Just before you draw your last breath, that moment before you die, just call out to GOD and ask forgiveness for any and all sins and Voila! you are instantly forgiven everything and have a front row in Heavens seats!

If you're going to base your salvation on the law, then every single law must be followed. All of them. If you've ever broken any of the laws, then you're a sinner and cannot get to heaven.
Also, the "goodness" of a Muslim, Jew, or even Christian is practically irrelevant as regards to heaven. None of us are "good" enough to get into heaven. Not even Mother Theresa. All of us need Jesus to remove our sins from us so we can get to heaven. Period.

very good question. following or not following commandments does not keep you out of heaven or get you in heaven. your own personal belief in jesus is what gets you into heaven. a personal belief is one that you acknowledge Him as dying on the cross for your sins and being willing to follow his teachings and beliefs. not a license to sin, but you are forgiven for everything forever, your sins were already paid for by His blood. you must believe with your heart and not just your head because after all, the devil himself believes in jesus, but with head knowledge only. he does not incorporate any of Jesus teachings into his realm. furthermore, a person can be a "good" person and rarely break a command, ent, yet not belive in
God at all!!!

jews were given 613 basic categories of commandments with the knowledge that not every one applied to each person all the time. A non-priest is not bound by priestly laws, and a banker need not worry about agricultural rules. One is responsible for what applies to that person.

There is not some mighty check list that is going to be gone over on judgement day. And if you are trying to do just enough, you aren't coming anywhere close. Have faith in Christ, visit the sick and imprisoned, feed the hungry, and clothe the poor, and you should be in good shape. In the end you know how you should be acting.

None of those things will get you into heaven or keep you out of heaven.
The Bible says,
Joh 1:12 But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name,
Rom 10:9 if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.
Rom 10:13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
Notice that these verses say nothing about sacraments, going to church, eating or not eating certain foods, wearing certain clothes, etc.. These may or may not be good things, but they have NOTHING to do with the salvation issue.

Disregard the commandments of men- BUT follow God's.
And it's the grace of God- that gets you into heaven, NOT following the commandments! However, it's NOT FOLLOWING the commandments that get you to hell!
