I asked: Who do think will find a cure for cancer first? All the believers in the world praying for a cure, or the good folks at the Mayo Clinic. Please don't answer with any silly rationalization, like they are inspired by God. God had his chance and blew it by letting countless innocent people die of cancer. He also had a chance with Small Pox, Diphtheria, Leprosy and the Bubonic Plague (which killed an estimated 35,000,000 people during the middle ages) to name just a few. Where was God, I am sure that the dying were praying to him. By the way the above desieases are eaither wiped out or so rare that they are not worth mentioning, all thanks to science (the same guys, that the church loved to burn at the stake during the middle ages, quite funny).

there is no god
anyone who believes in god is deceived by a complex system of manipulation created by men to give them power over others.

If the good folks at the Mayo Clinic, or any other scientists, find a cure for cancer, it will be only through God and the blessings of intellect and skill that He bestowed on such scientists.

There's no reason to dredge up the same tired old "religion vs. science" arguments -- especially since religion, especially the Catholic Church, was the patron of science for so many centuries.

Oh, you can also stop dredging up the Middle Ages and the burning-at-the-stake thing. For three reasons --

a) It happened centuries ago, so stop living in the past and get over it already

b) The Church didn't burn people at the stake -- the State did.

c) You're not really interested in the "injustice" of people being burned at the stake a thousand years ago -- you're just using that as an excuse to attack a Church that teaches things that you just don't want to hear.

If you were truly concerned about people being treated in unjust ways, you'd be on here throwing rocks at The State --- the institution far more responsible for more genocide and injustice than any other institution on this earth put together.

Why do you secularists give the biggest culprit of them all (The State) a free pass on injustice and bloodshed, but are quick to attack the Church for its supposed misdeeds?

Probably the good folks at the Mayo Clinic. God gave man free will, and a brain, so that we can develop vaccines and sanitation, and other good stuff like DDT (yes, it should be brought back).

Please read some of the writings of Louis Pasteur. He was very dedicated to solving problems of disease; he discovered the cure for rabies, for example (also known as hydrophobia). And, he also saw it as a personal mission.

Unfortunately, the research for cures for various diseases, is treated as a political ping pong ball. There is tremendous promise in the area of "optical biophysics", but it is vastly underfunded.

What you mention about the Church burning scientists at the stake is too complicated to address in this small space; but those who ran the Inquisition had nothing to do with Christianity, and a lot to do with what later became fascism down the road...

Ironically, some of the most profound scientific thinkers, were also profoundly religious. (not all were Christian, but also other faiths) For example, Johannes Kepler, and Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa. Also, Ibn Sina (sometimes called Avicenna). Please also read "On the Free Choice of the Will" by St. Augustine. He discusses questions such as why God allows evil to occur.

What are you trying to prove?

That atheists are going to find the cure.

If I say atheists I am generalizing because not all the scientists that are working to find the cure are atheists.

But yes, it would be great for you atheist scientists to occupy their minds in finding the cure for cancer instead of finding what was really the cause of the origin of earth, since I think that's a waste of time.

But I will pat in the back of the person who finds the cure doesn't matter if he is atheist or whatever.

Supposedly the cure already exists.

Also diseases have to happen in the world and don't blame God blame the microbes and bacteria the cause of diseases.

You atheists love microbes and bacteria since supposedly animals evolved from them.

So in an Atheist World with no God Diseases have to happen anyway.

well Mr smarty pants, if God had not have given them the ability to find the cure, they would not have found one, and they do have cures for some cancers, but why is God always blamed if someone gets cancer....oh it couldn't be because the person smoked 2 packs a day for 20 years, oh no, and when someone gets some other type of cancer.......oh it couldn't be because people have polluted the land and water and now we are slowly killing ourselves from our own stupidity...then people that start praying are usually the ones like you that didn't believe in God and now that you are in trouble and no one can get you out of it ,then you go crying to God to get you out of it, well you know , he don't have to save you,or cure you, when you ask, especially when you have blasphemed his name, and run him in the ground, it say in the Bible,if you don't answer when you are called , he may not call you again,he will turn a deaf ear to you because your turned one to him for so long, oh by the way God is a scientist,it took science to create this world, and he did it,end of story. Mr

God was there the whole time...He uses those people for different purposes...He uses them as an act of mercy, what if that was you? He is proving how He is merciful by not making you go through that as well...there are reasons to everything...He wouldn't just do something cuz He was bored and wanted to watch millions of His children suffer, He did it becuase He loves His children and wanted to show us His love, mercy, copmassion, and to show us that He is in fact in control of everything...and about the science thing, God made them scientists, there is a point to everything, He made them scientists so that they could come up cures...before you ask any more questions on here where you can get ridiculous/incomplete/or wrong answers, go to a nearby church and speak with their pastor...they will be happy to talk to you and answer any questions that you might have

you're in my prayers

Allah the Almighty says in quran;
'There is no desease that we have not sent its curity first on the earth'. another place;
'When I am sick, this is (Allah) who heals me up'.

There are so many other evidences showing that Allah the Almighty has already created the the healing things on earth. This is our responsibility to discover and put our deligence to find out that specific technology.

When we analyse the base chemical of a pain killer, we see that it is extracted form any herb which was created thousands of years ago when Allah the Almighty created them all but medical science dicovered that just a hundred year ago. Do yo think it was created just before the medical science discovered it's benefits or medical science itself has created that.

Similarly every drug/medicine has its root which has the history as long as the beginning of this world but when was this cancer discovered, when was this HIV discovered.

That is why quran says every deseas has it's curity. Why do we want every thing done by Allah the Almighty. he has done what did he think enough to be done for this world now we have to do our part following his right path.

Allah the Almighty can do every thing and definitely could have done needfull at that time (what is quoted by you) but what does our part remain?

Therefore don't blame Allah the Almighty (God) but see what we do. We do everything against what we are directed to do and expect that Allah the Almighty will do every thing in our favour.

A lot more can be said here but I leave rest to think....................

Scientists aren't really looking for the answers. Because the answers are too obvious. Cancer is anaerobic-- therefore flooding the body with only oxygen rich foods like fruits and vegetables would cure cancer. god's original diet for human beings was given in the garden of Eden. Genesis 1:29 if man stuck to God's laws diseases would be eradicated.

Part of the problem is that scriptural Christianity and the lives of people here in America tend to differ. At the root of it, Christianity holds that Christ is superior to man; not equal to man (man is a false god; Gen. 3). All men make mistakes; (for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23).
There is a man-made old testament of Genesis-Malachi, and the scriptural old testament; i.e. the law of Moses. (Per scripture, the old testament was done away; Hebrews). The Jews were told to have two or more witnesses (about three times Deut. 10-20), and the Christians were given the same command (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1). When this concept is applied, one finds the 'old testament' is the law of Moses. My 'two or more witnesses' for that assertion include Joshua (Joshua 8:31), David (2 Kings 2:3), Solomon (1 Kings 8:9), Nehemiah (Nehemiah 8:1), Daniel (Daniel 9:11-13), Malachi (Malachi 4:4)i, Jesus (Matt. 19:7-9), God the Father (Matt. 17; in effect he backs up whatever Jesus his Son says), and the apostle Paul. (The law is referred to as the old testament (KJV), many other English versions translate it as old covenant in 2 Cor. 3:13-14). Perhaps this is part of why the beast in Revelation 17 is the USA, and the harlot Babylon is the leadership of the USA. (See what happens to the beast and harlot in Revelation 18).
God apparently had me think of this text recently; Acts 18:24-28 (please read) regarding Priscilla, Aquilla, and Apollos. Apparently, Apollos was eager to grow. I hope many Christians in this country presently are in the Apollos category.
The doctors have their calling from God, at the moment I do not recall the chapter(s), but I do not have that (Catholic) Bible handy here at the moment.

The cure may have already been out for some time now, BUT, due to the ruling higher anarchy- the cure isn't let out to the public! It would mean millions of lost revenue for certain people! Politicians are tied up with all these medical/medicinal and pharmaceutical companies! Besides- by not releasing these cures, they keep check on the global population control.

Well I am a believer and i can say that science will find the cure for the diseases you have mentioned but not until god allows them to be directed to finding the cure and all that are praying are praying for a cure or someone to find the cure not for god to make it go away but for gods help in finding the cure
