I love the Dog Whisperer!!!! And the chihuahua episode was too funny!
I have always found his techniques to work. So, keep working with your dog. Hold him down until he quits trying to bite. It may take a while.

Yes!! Cesar Milan is awesome with dogs...and hot too. Yes I remember an episode with an aggressive Chihuahua. From what I can remember it was the owner's fault because she didn't stop the dog, and remove her from her lap when the dog did that. The women treated the dog like her baby, so it was hard for her to do that (which I understand because my little dachshund is the baby). He also like put a finger on the side of the dogs neck when she showed the aggressive behavior to signify a bite, like would happen in a pack if she we're showing behavior the pack didn't like. He didn't hurt the dog he just layed like two fingers there firmly and the dog understood. Sorry, that's the best I can remember.

I disagree with Sim24. I've had 5 dogs (2 right now), I've been to dog training and I have learned the "clicking method" and I have to say that it's NOT for every dog. With teaching your dog tricks, it's fine, but when dealing with an aggressive dogs, it just doesn't cut it. I've also fostered many dogs, and I've thought of becoming a dog trainer. Training is more of an art than a technique. The "clicking method" should be used for some, the "Ceasar" or "alpha dog" method for others. The bottom line is, if you're dog doesn't have your respect and runs the house - no amount of clicking is going to solve that!

Milan's methods are not based upon any training or learning theory. They are out-dated, ineffective as a learning tool, and in fact, quite dangerous to both the dog and the handler. You would be better off learning training techniques that your dog can actually learn from and you will build up your relationship, rather than trying to intimidate your dog. yes seen it... you have to quit babying the dog... you have to show it that you are the pack leader...animals are just that animals... If you treat a pet like they are children then the pet is going to rule you... but as far as an animal goes .. had a couple of chihuahuas and I will never have another one... especially a male... he will ruin everything in your home by peeing on things.. Marking his territory type thingy... just plum nasty dog... plus they can't stand it if anybody (like spouses and boy friends or girl friends get near you... they always got to be the center of your attention... No thanks .... chihuahua bad Idea.....
