my puppies spend all their time inside, running around in the little space they have, up and down the stairs of my home... we have a smaller back yard too but we utilize dog parks and walk them a lot. I have a pitbull mix and an american bulldog mix, which are both supposed to get to be pretty good sized. they are both my little love bugs. if you dont like small animals, you could try for something like that, but probably not one with a lot of agility in their breed (you can do research on that). Most dogs like being with their owners. Just remember to exercise them and they should be fine.

I always thought I would never be happy with a small dog. I have always had big dogs my whole life. (Rottweiler, Lab, Collie, etc.) But I recently adopted a 5 month old Dauschound (weiner dog) from the local animal shelter, he is a wonderful little dog. Since you have an apartment a smaller dog may be more suited for you, because they can run around in your apartment and backyard and get plenty of exercise. A bigger dog may be unhappy in the small confinements of your apartment. Good Luck on your search.

#1...check with your landlord on what's allowed and what's not. The complex in which I live will not allow Rottweilers and Pit Bulls. Secondly, exactly how much time do you have to spend with a dog? If you don't have a lot of time, definitely do not go for a high energy that's going to be pent up all day. I ended up opting for a cat because I work 40+ hours a week and am also in school which would be totally unfair for a dog to leave them alone that long whereas most cats can handle that no prob (mine sleeps all day to store up the energy to terrorize me all night).

verify with your condominium complicated first to make advantageous they don't have a puppy coverage that prohibits super canines. maximum complexes additionally limit aggressive breeds inclusive of Pit bulls. some additionally limit canines decrease than a twelve months previous. That being suggested Labs make superb companions. Corgies are additionally superb. I had a rat terrier chihuahua blend which became a superb puppy and not yappy interior the least. in case you're able to need to circumvent hair everywhere i could advise a labradoodle. As with absolutely everyone residing in an condominium I relatively advise you talk your schedules and which you will would desire to %. up after your dogs at an condominium complicated (bending + bag). additionally, any damages to the condominium would be your responsiblity. that's frequently seen Flea scientific care which my condominium complicated costs $2 hundred for in the event that they seem after circulate-out.

Retired greyhounds make great apartment dogs. In fact, many larger breeds do better than many smaller breeds. The most important thing to remember is to make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise. This is true whether you live in an apartment or a giant mansion.
I have an italian greyhound and he is perfect for my apartment. Despite their athletic looks they are pretty much couch potatos. In fact, the most exercise mine has gotten today is rolling over in his bed!

I raise shih tzu's and they are great little dogs. My sister had one in an apartment and she paper trained her. They do not shed either and they do not mind being left alone, and they dont mind being inside and laying around. Actually they prefer it. Lot s of them dont like heat or cold. But they will always be ready to go out for walk with you. They are very faithful companions. check out this web site www.shihtzu.org. If you get one from a good breeder, they are usually not that hyper.

depends on what your landlord allows. Personally due to constricted space I don't think dogs belong in apartments. Also, if your dog barks it really annoys your neighbors (especially at 3am when I had to get up at 5am to get ready for work). Now that we have a house we're considering a dog since it has more room.

Go here for an awesome dog training program http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?P9y3
Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn t going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don t be one of them.

shih tzu's are really sweet, and compact! I had one when I lived in an apartment and it worked out fine.
I WOULD NOT recommend a rat terrier in an apartment because they need alot of space to run and be hyper, and when they get confined and bored they get into "trouble" like chewing things
