Hopefully it's been at least a month since you last dyed it, also at least two weeks after you have relaxed your hair. But yes you can do it at home. Do not over process! If you are using a rinse you can add a deep conditioner to the process to limit damage to your hair.

Well Im assuming that your hair none of those extension things. But I think its okay. But you should have somebody help you so you can get all your hair covered. and you should probably ask a professional how many boxes you will need. Depending on your hair and how thick it is you will probably need about three or four boxes. Good Luck.
P.S. It may be easier just to get your hair donw professionally

Sure, it is okay to do it at home. Try Garnier Nutrisse Cream. This is the least damaging one in the market. It has a no drip texture and can be easily applied.

i would go to a store and look in the "ethnic" section because thats where you get stuff thats specially formulated for "women of color".
