I went two times. Even though I don't agree with many of the ideas purported by Mr. Gothard, I was deeply impressed by the materials provided, the many scripture references and the man's obvious love for god and his concern for young people. I found that the course had many pages of scripture references and presented the material well. I would recommend it to any young person, yet it is important to remember that people have different beliefs about what the scriptures mean and these beliefs are all subject to error because none of us is perfect. If we think we see and judge with perfect vision we are the most likely not only to be in error but to be trapped in it. The most important thing to recognize is that our heart attitude should be to please and serve God and love others. The more we practice this attitude the more God is able to speak into our lives and show us the truth about what we should be doing, not for the purpose of building up a self-righteous resume, but out of a gratefulness in our hearts due to God's love and abiding patience for us.
It was so long ago that I remember mostly the above impressions, but I only remember learning about how God constructed people regarding life, the principal of reaping and sowing, and how the spirit, soul and body relate and interact with God's spirit or are supposed to.

I erally don't mean to offend you with this answer. So please do not take this personally. It is not about you!

I went to 4 out of 6 days of this seminar and still think that organization has one massive psychological illness!

They say don't date. I turn to the guy next to me who has a girlfriend. This is the guy who invited me to the seminar. I asked,"Aren't you and your girlfriend dating?" He replied, "no, we're just seeing eachother." This is 100% typical of that spliting hair group. I am a Christian and like the Presbyterian USA or Methodist approach, so this fundamentalism is something that just doesn't suit me. Therefore, maybe I am just biased.
God taught me that I don't beliong with that group who takes The Bible literally. In fact, I joined a group (for a while) called Fundamentalists Anonymous for former fundamentalists who came to believe it is inaccurate and bad psychology, not to mention very devisive. At least you got an answer (me).
