Do you hang out with a lot of Christians or something?Who says they do? I mean you are on an answers and questions site. What the hell do you want them to do sit and not respond, that would be a one sided conversation now wouldn't it.
Tell you what. If you don't want Christians opinions don't ask questions on the religion and spirituality board. People are entitled to there opinion even if they do not like yours. No one knows you personally on here so how can they truly hate you?

In my time on this board, I have seen this behavior from both sides. It is very unchristianlike behavior. I have seen antagonistic questions asked by both parties and then both parties answer a fool according to their folly. I have seen very few qusestions answered in a way that makes either side look intelligent or reasonable- there are false accusations, generalizations, and ignorant statements flying back and forth with the attitude that the speaker is the most intelligent person in the world.
The funny thing is, when I do see a Christian or an athiest post something that is objective and fact related (especially when a Christian posts omething of this nature) that is when they get attacked for hatred the most- weird!
You are talking about Christians spewing hate but how many questions have I seen just over the last week where there wasn't even a question really, just saying Christians are uneducated, Christians are unable to think rationally, should we go back to feeding Christians to the Lions, and more even worse. I have not once seen question about throwing athiests to the lions and I owuld not even consider such a thing. I am not jumjping on you but are you just overlooking the hateful athiest questions? or are those just okay?? If both parties would take accountability for their own actions and words instead of pointing fingers at each others wrong doings, we might actually have a really intelligent forum here .
Wow, I just posted this then took a look at some of the answers, I am not saying that ALL of the Christians answers are with the right attitude, but I am looking and most of the Christians have answered honestly , with a humble spirit and the athiests have generalized, stereotyped, falsely accused and outright insulted not christianity, but Christians without even knowing anyone on here personally.
I think you have your answer!

It goes both ways, there are just some immature people on here who are judgmental and generalize everything. I am sure you posted this because of a question a few minutes ago about atheist antagonizing Christians. I have been called names, immoral, been questioned about why I am in the religious section if I don't believe. Which by the way is because I am intelligent and I like to debate and learn and discuss. Religion is a part of my culture whether or not I believe and although I don't believe in God I find religion interesting, just like I find history that I didn't take part in interesting.
I have also seen questions and comments toward Christians that were just as bad. I think there are a bunch of bored, immature kids who like to cause problems.

I am not sure that it is always that way. Atheists also antagonize Christians.
Christians (probably more often than not the evangelical fundamentalists) find plenty wrong with the world to make a lot of crazy demands. Atheists often add to the noise by demanding that crosses be taken down/removed from public view (when on public property).
It would be nice if they simply cancelled each other out so those who wish to worship in peace can do so without harrassment and those who don't have a need to worship can exist without having religion shoved down their throats.

I would say because they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. Besides that maybe they truely worry you will go to hell for your beliefs. I guess many do take it to far and try to get people to convert by judging them. I find they best way to shut up a quack chistian is to quote the bible, judge not lest you be judged works nicely as does he who is without sin cast the first stone :) I am christian but I don't feel the need for everybody to believe what I believe. If you don't believe in God good for you at least you take a stand and form an oppinion. Try the quoting thing it really does work. I hope I haven't annoyed you in any way with my answer. I just thought you should know not all christians should be lumped into a catagory. There are some good ones out there. They may be hard to find but they do exist.

I am a Christian, and I do not hate atheists. I don't who you have talked with or what group of "Christians" you've been around, but the group of Christians I hang with, are not like that.
I definitely am human and while I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I have all the emotions that everyone else has, anger, jealousy, fear, happiness, joy, hate, etc. I get cranky, irritable, and am difficult to be sometimes when I am having a particularly hard day. But on the other hand, I have also been told by more than one person that I am probably the easiest person in the world to be around, that I'm happy go lucky. My own Mother told me (I was her caretaker b/f she died), that I was extremely patient with her.
I am no different as a human being from an atheist. I do not feel that I am better than anyone person. As a human being, I am very aware of my shortcomings and there are probably some atheists that are a better people as a human being than I am.
The only difference between an atheist and myself, is that I, at 6 years old, believed that there is a supreme being that loves me and cares for me. I wasn't looking for that, I just happened to hear it and believed it. At 12, I believed, through a friend, that the supreme being had a name, Jesus Christ and that he wanted to offer me a relationship with me. And that he wanted to enter into a friendship with me and that he had the power to help me in this life and that when my life was over that I could continue this loving relationship with him forever in heaven where he is.
My father was an agnostic, not real sure how that is different from an atheist, but probably pretty close. We were not allowed to talk about God in our home. It was ok, though because my father was a good man and loved us very much. He was a 33rd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite and he was instrumental in helping a lot of people. A little before he died, he told me that he Jesus Christ appeared to him and my Dad wanted to be with him. Quietly, all I said was, "That's good, Dad." I did not try to preach to my Dad and as far as I know no else did either in his lifetime.
I am sorry that you have had mislead people speak ill of atheists and spew hatred. Being a Christian should mean that you should lead by your example. The Bible says that God is kind and compassionate to all mankind and is not willing that anyone perish and that all know Jesus Christ.

Why do you find it necessary to antagonize christians? I will tell you why I don't like Atheists. People that are Atheist hate Christians for believing in something they can't see. Well I have news for you, if everyone could see God, then it wouldn't be a faith, it would be a fact. Christians hate your BELIEF, but not you. Don't take it personally. I think Atheists don't believe in God because their prayers aren't answered and they think God isn't real. God is real, because things on this Earth often happen that science cannot explain, and God is not here to serve christians, we are here to serve him. Those people that say they are christian and then go and sin on purpose and walk away thinking that they are ok in doing that because they are saved, are not true christians. Ok? That is the one thing about my own religion that ticks me off. If your christian, you know what you have to do, and you need to do it. Its not about getting as close to the line as you can, being christian is about trying to get as far away from sin as possible. So I understand what those people mean. However, the bible does note that no one is perfect. So yes, they do sin, its called giving into temptation. Satan tempts us to steer us away from God. Every now and then, he gets his way. then we have to ask for forgiveness. God is our Father. Think about all the bad things you did that may have disappointed your father. No matter what you do, your father will always be your father, and if the relationship is going to continue, then you have to apologize for what you've done. Are atheists perfect all the time? No, even they have standards and morals etc. Are christians perfect? No. Also, someone poked fun at the fact that we are suppose to love everyone no matter what. That is absolutely correct. We are. However, we are showing our love even more to a non-believer when we talk about God to them because not only can a friendship form when you lead someone to God, we believe that we should care enough about others to lead them to heaven and eternal life. Any christian that defames another belief is not a christian. If they invite you to church, then they are doing what God wants them to. If they get mad when you say no, then they are not christian. Once again though, I am going to add that no one is perfect. Jesus is the only right person that ever walked this Earth. And yes, the person that commented that we are putting out beliefs in FAITH BASED BASKET!! YOUR RIGHT! WE ARE! Do we say we have a "fact in God?" No, we say we have FAITH in God, because its just that-faith. If it were fact EVERYONE would HAVE to believe in it. It would be like 2+2=4. Anybody who doesn't believe the fact that 2+2=4 would be downright stupid. But since Atheists can't prove their theory, and Christians I will admit can't always prove their theory, they call it FAITH.Satan wants us to question God. Satan wants power. And, people do give in. some however, continue believing in God no matter what. As for God creating the Universe versus evolution, I personally believe that God created evolution. Why does it have to be either or? God can change a species when he wants to.Do I make sense?

Or vice versa. Personally, I think it's about time "atheists" (if you MUST label a perfectly ordinary human being) stopped pussyfooting around others' precious beliefs. Christianity, for example, has had 2000 years to make this a fine world. I think it failed. We need a paradigm shift. Religion does more harm than good. And it is logically absurd, at least on the fine detail level. If there exists a Creator out of time that desires to become self-aware through sentient life, so be it. Doesn't mean "He" watches over you.

Maybe you are talking to the wrong Christians. I don't antagonize atheists, and neither do many people who go to my church. It also depends on the denomination. Nondenominational Christians for the most part wont be all hateful to atheists, but more of your baptist and Presbyterians will. Personally I think its because the person may feel too self righteous. If that's not it, then they just don't know the right approach. Just blow off the Christians who spew hate for you, and you wanna know a secrete?
Real Christians don't spew hate at people, regardless of their religion. So if someone says they are christian, and they are saying "I hate you because you hate my God!", then they aren't being true to their faith. Just forgive them, they are just being as ignorant as they were taught.

I guess people hear what they want to hear.
And here I was, wondering why atheists find it necessary to antagonize Christians.
Go figure.
LOL, it just ocurred to me...you will, of course, interpret my answer as "hate spewing from a Christian mouth," while I, of course, see your question as yet another attempt to antagonize Christians. How ironic!!
