Some of my friends wear them only at night.
Some of them wear them all day...

How long should I wear it? Does it matter?

According to my dentist, I should wear mine every night. Skipping a couple days is fine, but the teeth will shift if it is not worn regularly. Unfortunatly, retainers are for life. If you want your teeth to stay the way they are, you have to keep wearing it.

From what I know you can wear it as much as you want, the more the better, but at least for a full night each night. Your orthadontist will be able to recommend how much and how often you should wear it for your specific case.

Yes, it does matter, because if you don't wear it, your teeth won't stay where they've moved to. It generally takes years for your teeth to resettle, and even then you should still wear it occasionally so your parents don't end up wasting their money when your teeth slip back to their old positons.

i'm meant to placed on mine 24/7 different than when I consume and drink. I have been given mine 4 days in the past and that i've got worn them like i've got been instructed to. Her tooth will shift decrease back. And if she does not placed on her retainer for a protracted volume of time it is going to now no longer extra healthful. they're very costly to change, mine is $3 hundred for the coolest and backside retainers to get replaced.

It matters! Wear it all day and night when you get off your braces for at least a few months b4 you start wearing them only at night. This is to ensure your teeth stays in their new positions after your braces have moved them. Ask your orthodontist, he/she would be glad to tell you. =)
