Heck no! Telling someone that is a cop out and is basically telling me that they don't know what they're talking about.

I tell people to be themselves all the time. I don't want the facade that most people put on for meeting other people. I want to know if you are rude or not beofre going further in friends or relationships. If I don't like your personality at first, then there is no reason to get involved further.
Also by being yourself, there is nothing to suddenly "change" when you hit that "comfortable" state.

No, I'm perfectly capable of being myself. If I am looking for advice, it is because I want to act like somebody smarter and better prepared than myself.

nope, infact they lost me with that one. I couldn't even talk to them about anything after that with that kind of answer. Its a cop-out and shows the poor level of education and understanding for what it takes in a friendship. Easy answer for those who really don't know the answers to anything.
