What would you like to know? I lived in Tucson for the first 18 years of my life.

Try going to afcrossroads.com for more info. on the base itself. You need a login to gain access, but you should be eligible as a dependent.

I know Davis-Monthan pretty well, since my husband was sent there as his first station after tech school.

If you're not used to a hot climate, GET READY. The summers down here are not friendly. A lot of the guys from base I met thought Tucson was too boring, but the mountains down here are great... if you like hiking and camping, when it's cool in the spring and fall there's no better area for it.

I know a couple of years ago there was a serious drug/alcohol problem among the on-base airmen, but I'm not sure how it is now. The rumor is that D-M also has the highest suicide rate of any AF base. I guess that says it all right there. But like any place, it is what you make of it.

It is a really nice base, or at least what I have seen. My husband is stationed in Sierra Vista just south of Tucson. You can always find something to do there. Whether it is something adventurous or going shopping you can find something to do.
