One thing I've learned on Yahoo Answers is that liberals are not in the least open minded unless you're gay, athiest or a minority. If you're christian, you're to be insulted, ridiculed and bashed. They are the most abusive, rude, intolerant bunch of people I've ever encountered. In some states, if a person dies in a car accident, you can no longer put a white cross where they died in rememberance of them, cause it upsets the liberals to see that cross. They're intimidated by them or something. Their rights are more important than the rights of the deceased person's family, who wanted that cross there. Crime is up, school shootings, drive-by shootings, because they kids get no knowledge about God, because it offends the liberals. The word "God" seems to offend them. I don't really get how they get offended, must be the most sensitive people in the history of the world if the word "God" can offend them so much. Have a hissy fit if they get a Christmas card, but I'm betting they have no problem taking off work for Christmas. This country is in heap big doo-doo if these are the people running it. For some strange reason, the word "Allah" doesn't seem to offend them??? Totally illogical. Oh yeah, muslims are a minority in this country, so of course Allah doesn't offend them. Silly me.

Liberals put down your religion because you try to push it off on anyone else, like you think they need it.

When it comes to freedom of religion, this also means freedom from religion.

The very essence of freedom of, is to choose wether to follow, worship or hear it.

In the history of the world, christians have been the most intolerant people on the planet. Either because they were scared of the communists, muslims, atheists or whoever else they decide the world would be better off without.

NEWS FLASH!! Not everyone believes like you. The world is an ever changing place with ever changing people. Your diluted westernized version of religion is preverted. You do not practice what you preach. And you most certainly do not practice the love you say you possess in your heart.

Grow up and get a brain and analyze how some of these "christians" of todays world act. Specifically your president.

I hate when liberals cry for tollerance and put down ALL of my views.
It is only convienient to be tollerant when you agree with EVERYTHING they say and do. They think that if they can get everyone to agree with everything they say (even though it is general ideas and ideals) the world would be this grand eutopia.
Got news liberals.....I would rather be in a locked room with Satan himself for a millenia than spend one day in a room full of John Kerry's.

YES!! I've been reading a book on this very topic, called "Be Intolerant (because some things are just stupid)! The author is Ryan Dobson and its an AWESOME book!

I feel its quite alright to be intolerant of false teachings and things that go against God's will for us, but I think the liberals cry for tolerance is just their way of winning the votes of the people without God in their lives!

We are not putting down your Christian views. We are just asking for a chance to also say something - not just the Christians. That may look like we don't want to hear what you have to say - and maybe we don't, but we won't tell you you're wrong. Would you let us be without telling us liberalism is wrong? That's the difference.

It is because Christians put down liberals. Goes both ways. I hate when Christians put down liberals, then cry about persecution.

You can make fun of anyone you want. It's right there in the constitution.

What you cannot do is discriminate through your behavior. For example, you cannot deny employment to a person because of their race, and you cannot force people to participate in religious practices or beliefs who don't believe in them. That's what is meant by "tolerance"; it's behavior, not words.

Of course, many people will still yell at you if you say intolerant *words*, but so what? Deal with it. They're not going to force you to stop saying it, and they're not going to force you to believe differently. Just as you have the right to speak your prejudices, other people have the right to make fun of you for it.

Well, if the 'Christian views' in question are intolerant, then they have every right to.

Tolerance does not extend as far as tolerating the intolerant.

If the views in question are benign, then you're right. It's not the right thing to do.

I hate it more when conservatives assume I'm not a Christian because I'm a thinking, open-minded, tolerant, progressive, and yes, liberal!
