Dont you think that girls have become way to promescious nowdays?? From you 20 year old moms, to teen moms... now get this.... Pre-teen moms??? Are girls nowdays this dumb?? Did MTV kill a generation?? Where are the Idiot parents???

And I would say no. Back in the old days, they would just have been married off at 12 or 13.

Not to be all feministic, but girls, no matter their age, do not become pregnant on their own. For every girl that has sex, there is a boy that is doing so as well. Don't put all the blame on the females. More than likely, the male is the elder of the couple and the instigater. If anything, underage sex is because of the promiscuity of the male, not the female. I do not believe it is any one thing causing the inflation of underage sex, but a lot of things contributing toward such behavior. The media (television, movies and the internet) has definately done a lot to expose teens and preteens to sexuality. Peer pressure and the desire to be accepted in such a stressful time as puberty also plays a part in underage relations. It is also wrong to assume that underage sex is new, it is just more acceptable these days as is sex in general.

Yup, girls are more promiscuous - and so are guys! Television, media, along with terrible parenting have created a generation of kids who don't respect themselves or their bodies. Not to mention the older teens or adults who end up being the dads to these barely teen girl's babies.
I don't think we can blame mtv or any media - it really comes down to the parents. The parents should be in control of their kids and know what they are doing, what they are watching, etc. Many parents find this hard to do because they work too much or just can't be home. Kids need parents who are there for them or they will seek out attention in other places.

Yes, it's sad. It's not TV alone. IF parents start early enough, and tell their kids the pitfalls of sex too early, and also give a little tough love, this kind of sh-- can be prevented. It's not 100% but most parents don't even try anymore. It's not that the girls are dumb, but they want to bellieve the guy...ok, they're dumb, but if u've ever fallen in love, then at the time, it's not dumb to believe a guy will be with u forevr just cuz he says so, and all u have to do is have sex. No, kids don't talk to parents, so parents NEED to talk to kids, and dont stop. Talk to 'em from the day they start menstrating, til the day they turn 18. talk to ur sons too. Make sure they know that u'll be there for them if they do screw up despite everything u've discussed, but if they don't take care of fhe kid; CPS will be involved. They need to know that if they make a baby, and choose to keep it, they have an 18yr committment to live up to; no matter how old they are. That goes for the fathers too. They also need to know that just because mom and dad don't get along(teen angst), that's no reason to penalize the kid. Girls, shut ur legs until ur fully ready to deal with the possible consequences! Parents, let them know tough love is an option, and LOVE them even if they screw up. don't kick 'em out cuz of disobedience, but don't be parents to ur grandkid either...be grandparents and teach ur kid how to be a parent, if it come to that. If other problems result, deal with them in a similar fashion, but LOVE ur kid through it.

I think you are 110% right. We are to the point now to where it is babies having babies. Parents are getting way to loose on teaching their kids right. Not just the girls, the boys too. Cause the girls most certainly can not get pregnant by their self.

They are out there having sex just to be having sex. There is no mean to it at all, they have not been taught that sex is what is shared in a marriage between them to express their love and feelings for each other.

Unfortunately you're right. Girls are using their sexuality as a means of "empowerment", which is ridiculous and ironic because the boys are the ones benefitting from it, not the girls. It has set women back several decades...girls are increasingly becoming objects instead of people. It's very sad.

actually I am not convinced that girls are any more loose now than in the past, HOWEVER, I DO believe we SEE it more and know its happening.

In the info age, EVERYTHING is up for grabs, its much more difficult to cover up these kinds of things.


Also with the constant influx of add dollars pushing sex, its only natural that people "Think" they must be the only ones NOT doing it, which is as much BS now as it was then.

I agree. but i also think that people don't raise their children with morals anymore. no one even is free enough to spank their child, someone might tell, or the new thing is that it teaches them to hit people. I was spanked and i don't hit anyone. people just let their kids dress how they want to and act how they want to. all the people that says kids don't come with manuals they are wrong, the manual is called the bible!

because this day and age sex sales we see it all over the media, girls have been conditioned to feel that if they put out or walk around looking sexy that guys will go for them more, so they do it saving yourself for marriage or someone you love is done these days girls are starting out as young as 10 its ridiculous .

the reason kids become this way is they cannot-- or will not-- talk to their parents...
if parents become active in their kids life- it wont happen
