As a witch myself, I will say that although Piper is one hot little..... um yeah... but it's 98% fluff and special effects. Real magick is a very subtle force, not a bunch of hocus-pocus as TV would have you believe. Ritual, yes, they have done their research when writing for the show. But while it is based on a lot of fact, the fact remains that they still have to make it something that will attract ratings.

i imagine it has harm us - not that we had a lot credibility besides, yet now in case you say you're Wiccan they go, "oh, like in that television coach" and smirk at you. Plus those those who're "out of the broom closet" keep having to attend to young ones who prefer to get into Wicca basically with the intention to "get powers". that's virtually as undesirable because those that prefer to grow to be vampires or mermaids over on the Mythology dialogue board. on the different hand, a minimum of the witches in Charmed were the heroines for a replace.

Not very. It is based entirely on fiction. Do not turn to TV to teach you about other religions.... There are a few very good books you can read if you are interested. This is exactly the kind of assumptions that hurt my community in our efforts to earn back our respect and equality. The show is entertaining, but it is NOT truth.

Ummm, the Celtic knot-work on the front of their Book of Shadows is a real symbol....

That's about all the truth there is to that show. And the powers they have are fantasy as well. Don't believe a thing you see on that show.

Blessed be.

Just like "science fiction" shows often make up the science, charmed pretty much makes everything up about witches and magic. It's a fictional television show, and should be treated as such.

Being a wiccan myself I believe they were pretty much on the money with some of the rituals.

The few times I watched it, it seemed so Hollywood..young and skinny women always perfected dressed. That's never reality...Wicca is accepting of great diversity.
