we can't understand God or the trinity... it is above our comprehension... that's why it's called FAITH
but... think of H2O... H2O exists as water, steam and ice... three distinct properties but all still H2O... all separate but the same...

YES, it is in the Old Testament. Genesis 1:1: In the beginning, Elohim created. That is not Yahweh, Elohim is a plurality, meaning more than one. Just like Cherubim and Seraphim, angels. Anything that ends in “im” is more than one.
Now, we know that God the Father was there, and you believed that. But in Genesis 1:2, the Holy Spirit moved upon the face of the waters. Then in Proverbs 30:4, it says, who hath created all the ends of the earth? Who hath created the world? What is God's name and what is His Son's name? That’s not the New Testament, that’s the Hebrew Scriptures. In Isaiah 9:6-7, it says, Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And what is the name of this son? The "Mighty God" in the next verse.
God is Spirit. [ John.4:24] Jehovah The only True God.
I and the Father are ONE. [Matt. 12:18] Jesus: Is God through the Spirit.
Pour forth My Spirit [Acts.2 17} [Acts.2:38] The Holy Spirit. Sent to men through Jesus by Jehovah God.
The only way too the Father is through the Son by being baptized in the Holy Spirit.
This is God's Word. God said it.

OK. The explanation goes like this.
1. There was no Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Never was. Isn't now. Never will be.
2. Humans have continually and relentlessly "fallen away" from the God of the Old Testament and, for that matter, from the God of the New Testament, even following incarnation.
3. An important reason for this failure to appreciate and follow God is the inability humans have to see or properly conceive Him.
4 . So the Trinity is a model designed intellectually to approximate the major facets of God in a conceivable way. It's a concept to make the unimaginable monotheistic force a conceivable triune construct.
That's how we talk about it in my church --which emphasizes actual Scripture, established Tradition and logical Reasoning --not faith and never hysteria (which itself is manifest Satanism). We don't even need dogma (which for us is a funny movie).

Actually, it's not Father Son and Holy Spirit.... oh, i know that's what all the humans call it, but it's really more...
the Together, the Male and the Female (altho' penises and vaginas don't enter into it, it's more an attitude thing).
See? God as a whole = Infinity.
Now as an infinite consciousness there's some things you CAN'T do. You can't be surprised for instance. You already know it all. You can't enjoy your "first" smell of a rose... b/c you've always known what roses smell like, you are the rose, the smeller, the chemicals of the smell, the brain that interprets electirical signals from the nose etc.
For an INFINITE consciousness to "experience" things in what we'd call "TIME" it has to become DUAL.
In other words, it has to forget some part of itself. If it wants to be surprised by it's first smell of a rose it has to first forget what a rose smells like.
So it has to "send away" part of itself (forget) to become "OTHER".
This break up creates a dual being, b/c even the portion sent away is still ALIVE b/c all of infinity breathes with the consciousness of "god".
So suddenly a being "in time" sees itself as "born", and notes that there is an "other" (that which is sent away), and for the first time it's not alone (when you are EVERYTHING you are ALONE for this is no "OTHER")... so it asks the Other things "Who are you?"
And it goes "I'm the smell of a rose"
And the first bit goes "Oh really! I was just wondering about that! Come here!"
And they recombine and become the Infinite ONE again, which is (spirit) infnity and can't "experience" things in "time".
So to create a SUSTAINED "Time"....
the INITIAL DUALITY... must be OPPOSED
bit 1: who are you?
bit 2: eff you, i ain't tellin ya!
then time exists. with the duality of "I" and "Other".
With a third state of them both combined together as INFINITY being a mysterious "third" state, or "Spirit".
Yes, I AM the new messiah and antichrist, thankyouverymuch hahaha.
i dunno.
that's what i think.

The best way to try to think about the Trinity is to think about each part as different menifestations of the same being.
I guess that The Son is the physical menifestation, the Holy Spirit is the spiritual menifestation, and The Father is the godly menifestation (how ever you understand that).

Until you begin to read the Word of God, and look for him, it will remain a mystery to you. God is not like us. He is perfect in everything, He is the Source of Love, He is the Prince of Peace. He is the great I AM. I cannot hope to fully understand Him, but I do not need to, I only need to know that he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and His plan is good.
I have heard it explained this way once before - The universe is set up into distinct sets of three....Time, Space, Matter. Time has the past, present, and future. Space has three dimensions (that humans live in!). Matter has, well, I can't remember. You would be better off reading "The Biblical Basis for Modern Science" and it will explain it all.
People are made with three distinct "sides", the physical, the soul, and the spirit. When you accept Christ and his love and his sacrifice, you are adopted into the familiy of the Father, and the Holy Spirit comes to live within you.
God has three ways he relates to us, but he is still the Only Living God.

Hello friend,
The word Trinity is not found in the Bible, but the concept is throughout it's pages. Take a look at Deut.6:4-7. To the Jewish folks, this is called the "Shema" and is probably their most important text. It is the central tenet of monotheism.
While no man can fully explain trinity to you, God can help you to better understand it if you will spend time in His Word.
I've learned that the degree of understanding a person has about the Bible is directly proportionate the amount of study he does.
Blessings,
2 Tim. 2:7

The trinity is one of those things that we will never be able to completely comprehend in this world. We will understand those things when we are in heaven. This passage gives us a little insight though.
Rev 7:15 Therefore, "they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.
Rev 7:16 Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them,
nor any scorching heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
So God the Father sits on the throne, and the Lamb is at the center of the throne. The Spirit proceeds from the Father.

Christians seem to think that around 2,000 years ago, their primary diety developed some kind of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), in which he (it?)manifested a hippie-like personality (Jesus... spent some time on earth... now can be eaten in the form of a cracker), and some Casper the Ghost-like character with pedophilic tendencies (suspected of having impregnated a 12 or 13 year-old virgin... and being revered for it).
The explanation that you asked for takes all of one word: insanity.
The Trinity became dogmatic 'truth' after it was voted on at the Council of Nicea.

The greatest doctors of the Church could not adequately explain the Trinity. Our minds may not be wired to understand this mystery, the way a dog's mind is not wired to understand complex mathematics.
I believe that God first chose to reveal Himself as Father, when humanity was in its infancy and could best relate to a father figure.
Then, as humanity matured, He chose to reveal Himself as the Son, a brother figure to humanity.
Finally God chose to reveal Himself as He truly is, Spirit. The New Testament says: God is Spirit.

The Holy Trinity consists: GOD the Father, GOD the Son & GOD the Holy Spirit. It represents the three embodiments of the Lord GOD as we can best understand. GOD, as most of us think of HIM is the Father, GOD the Son is of course Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of GOD, HIS love and essence. That is how I believe, as I was taught. Hope I helped.
