Work on a compromise. Come up with a couple of names and let him pick the name he likes the best. Or let him cross off some names that he really doesn't like. That way both of you are making the decision together.

i personally don't like the name adolf so i can see why your husband doesn't want it!. why don't you try doing a google search on baby names that may help u choose a name that you would like that your husband would also. i am pregnant with my second and i chose the first name Blake, now we are having another boy and he chose Bailey although i'd prefer Cooper.
but i like Bailey so i am happy that we can both agree.
besides i don't think your son would be happy with adolf either...

The truth , i dont see why you would want to.. A name is your first impression, it follows you thru life.. I never knew any adolphs to be associated with any goodness. His name is notorious for bloodshed, and anti semetism and pretty anti everything except Aryan people..You should rethink it .And yes, even though i agree you are going thru the pain, there would be no baby or pain without your husband.

I'm guessing that your husband is a reasonable man and would be fine with most of the names that you could pick. Adolf, though, is associated with Hitler. Your husband doesn't want people to think of Hitler when they think of your son. I have to say, I can't blame him. Pick another name - one that doesn't remind people of one of the most evil men ever.

Maybe you should choose another name because I think Adolf is not a good name.

well you need to sit down and think of other names...you must compromise on such a beautiful event as this in naming your child. Key Word: Parents not Parent so you must agree and love the name you both choose

It has to be a name you both like. You have to realize the baggage the name Adolf has with it...

I would compromise on the first name and keep Adolf as the middle name. :)

Why would you want to name your kid Adolf when there are so many good names like Albert or Winston? How about George?

'nuff said?
