Is it true that guys are only really good friends with girls if they are interested in dating them?
I have a guy friend (we're both 20) who hangs out with me 24/7. He stays at my house, we do everything together. However, he randomly makes comments such as "yeah, we could never date". Why does he say this? He obviously likes hanging out with me.
It's not that he's scared of a relationship, he's had TONS of girlfriends. In fact, he's dated most of his former female friends at one point or another.
I'm not sure how I feel about him, but I just want to figure out what he's thinking about this friendship.
Oh and this isn't a he wants sex or friends with benefits thing. Neither one of us is really into that, just to clarify.
So what's the deal??

Well sweetheart, believe it or not, guys love having friendship as well. Often times when we become attached to a woman in a friendship sort of way we look at it as a brother/sister type of relationship. I know it may be hard for women to realize, but men love friendship, love, companionship, and to be wanted just the same way that women do. It's just that society has taught us that we can't express these types of emotions towards women. Similarly, society teaches women that they can't express their sexual desires towards men or else they will be labeled as a slut. It's not a fair world, is it?

Yes It is true... Guys have female friends because they hope to one day be intimate and get some. Like Chris Rock says.... Girls are offered Dickk all the time and dont even notice. He may say you could never date, but why else would he hang around? Because you're so Insightful and enlighten?? He is definetly up to something and its maybe waiting for the right time or for you to make the first move. Either that, or he's a homosexual in the closet pretending to be something he's not.

There are people like that. Have you been through some trial-type situation together, maybe? It sometimes welds people together to have gone through a perceived era of hard times that were mastered together, and then they just become chums without sexual perspectives. Has happened to me before. I suppose it can also be a case of liking each other on a personal level for various reasons without fancying the other person at all because that sexual spark is missing - happens too.

He probably really values you as a friend and knows that sex would change the whole dynamic of the relationship. If you are both happy with each others friendship then why question it.

I'm no guy, but ever since I can remember I had nothing but guys friends. I had a lot of friends, most where just friends and maybe 2 wanted to date me. Go with your gut feeling, It will let you know!

He likes you if he is hanging around that much. Why dont you flatter him by giving him compliements and going to dinner a few times. This may make him feel more comfortable and maybe open up how he feels with you.

Its hard to say. He seems to c u as a Best friend. He doesnt want to date u because he think he might loose his Best Friends. So wait and watch happen

It sounds like his statement, "yeah, we could never date" is his way of putting a feeler out to you to see if you want to date him or not. Cut through the guessing and talk to him about it.

the only reason why a guy becomes friends with a girl i s either s o he can rebound ifshe has a bf, or he wants to bact as if friends and later on get intimate a guy doesnt becomefriends with a girl to be friends its nature.

No guys don't just have female friends only wanting to date them. Men just want to *** them, there is a very subtle diffrence between the two. If you don't believe that offer up your body to him and watch him jump you.
