Can you share why you divorced?

At first I felt horrible, like a failure, like I broke a promise....but now I am much, much, MUCH happier. I guess it helps that I found out that he was cheating and married my next door neighbor the day after we divorced. Still it took me years to really be ok with it even with that.

My wife and I divorced about 5 years ago, but neither of us were believers at the time. I became a Christian while we were separated. I tried to reconcile with her because I thought that was the right thing to do, but she had already moved on to someone else.

I regret that I wasn't a good husband, but things are better now because God used that time in my life to draw me to Him, and I can't imagine being back where I was, living for my self.

We divorced because we were both being selfish and neither of us were willing to put God or the other person first.

FYI: Malachi 2 says God hates divorce. In Matthew 19 Jesus said no one has the right to divorce unless their spouse is cheating on them, and In I Corinthians 7, Paul also talks about it.
