a good month and yes it does hurt, "obviously" and you could easily die from the procedure.

Have a nice day !

Any surgery will hurt for awhile. You should recover from the surgical procedure within a month.

Some of the nasty effects of bypass surgery can include: chronic diarrhea, leaky gut, malabsorbtion of nutrients, dehydration, vomiting, food intolerance, and excessive flatulence (farting), hernias, and there is no real guarantee that you willl lose the weight you want to. You wil have to eat very--and I mean VERY--small quantities of food.

There are some who sail through the procedure with no problems whatsoever. You may be one of them, but although I am overweight myself, I would NEVER undergo such a procedure.

Gastric Bypass Surgery/gastrectomy/lapband (all types of weight loss and bariatric surgery) is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your lobesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her repeat gastric bypass surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .SHe is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Diarhea!!!!plus!! a need to eat the right amount of protein and and vitamin supplements as your intestines cant absorb nutrients like they did. Some people have a lot of problems after they have it done ?,I read that about 2/3 of those have problems? usually in 6 mos. after operation? should be done only if your med condition warrants it such as morbid obesity, and other weight related problems? not for cosmetic reasons!!talk to your dr. and check out the dr doing the ops? how many has he/she done? what is the track record, any problems??

yes it doesn hurt and you cant eat any real food for 3 month (only drinks) we expect you to loose 100lbs in ur first year and 50lbs in your 2nd year of surgery and after words there are a lot of foods that yous stomach wont tolerate...this part is different for every one...for instance one of my patients was drinkin milk shakes and actually gained 20lbs and another one of my patients still cant tolerate sweets and meat......after words you can be left with a lot of skin tissue so then you have to have another to take that off...... doctors suggests that dont have the surgery unless you are in health danger and can die.....because it limits your body and you can have infections after words.......only one forth of your stomach is left so you cant eat the amount you are use to eating you eat like one apple a day(after 3 months you cant eat anything for 3 months remember that)
