We live in a nation made up of IMMIGRANTS!! we are 1 race, tha human race. What i dont understand is the resentment people have against mexican americans. You all act as if the majority of us are not good people, involved in gangs, just flat out criminals. I wish you people can see the hardship the mexican population has had to go through. Racisim should stop now! think about it, if you send all immigarnts out of the U.S the only people remaining would be the natives. Mexicans come across the border looking for a better life. As did your ancestors, so they wouldnt be persucuted by a monarch. Thats why this beautiful nation was formed. To allow all humans the chance for a freedom. My point is simple, we are a nation that should accept people for who they are regardless of their color, education, language, sex ect. We are a nation of freedom, individuality, love, respect, democarcy, DIVERSITY. But its up to the People of the USA to accept people for who they are not where they come from.

I don't hate Mexicans. Who hate Mexicans?

When Irish and German people came to the United States, coming here was easy, you just got on a boat, and were greeted once you came here. Of course, due to hatred towards immigrants, immigration laws were created that made it more difficult for the average foreigner to come to the United States. The more than 50% of Mexicans who live below the poverty line don't have a fighting chance in getting a green card. And some who do, wouldn't know how to start. And if they do get here legally, it's likely that they'd be kicked out once their VISA runs out because the process of trying to become a citizen is long, tedious, and it can be degrading during the interview process. Anybody who simply came out a woman's hoo-ha to become a citizen doesn't know half of what the people who had to go through the naturalization know about the country. The Mexicans who came here illegally are not criminals. A criminal is someone who commits murder, rape, or steals. These are people who are trying to make money that they can send back to their starving families through hard work and dedication. I have a really conservative friend who is always telling me that he hates people who take advantage of the government welfare system because they are lazy and they just use it to buy drugs. He thinks we should get rid of it because most people on welfare are like that. Well, then why do we want to take the jobs away from the illegal immigrants. Lazy drug addicts aren't going to be able to handle the entire food production industry. If we were to kick all illegal immigrants out, the only way people could afford food is by giving an arm and a leg. I'm not saying illegal immigration is not problematic. It's ridiculous to say Mexicans are taking jobs because I still see help wanted adds in the newspaper, it's just ignorance. Nobody ever complained about the many secretaries who lost their jobs after spell check was invented. However if we let things continue, it will come to the point were nobody will be able to find a blue collar job. Some illegal immigrants even have to stand outside of a Home Depot to find a decent job from the average citizen. However the answer is not just closing up the border because it would cost incredible amounts of money, you conservatives do know the government is in debt; in fact, the only way to save money is to have illegal immigrants build the fence. Plus, illegal immigrants can always go around, above, or under the fence. The point is, if people honestly want to solve the problem permanantly, the U.S. government needs to work with the Mexican government to fix the economic problems that are causing the illegal immigration. I'm not talking about intervening, because intervention only hampers progress, but the curropt Mexican government could use some help. Eventually, Mexicans won't need to cross the border any more than Canadians do. As for the real question, why are people so hateful toward Mexicans, I've read all that crap about not hating Mexicans, only people who break the laws, but again, these illegal immigrants are geniuinly good people who are trying to help their families, not criminals. All that aside, a legal Mexican is viewed exactly the same as an illegal Mexican. It doesn't matter if the Mexican is a citizen of the United States, someone with an incredible job, like chemical engineering, and a good family man, if he walks into a restaurant, a hateful person is going to look at him the same way he or she views all other Mexicans because there is no way to tell a legal Mexican from an illegal Mexican. As to why hateful people exist, it's usually passed down from hateful parents, but in general, people are scared of change. People don't want to believe that a Mexican can be just as good as a Caucasian, maybe better. Lots of Americans don't want there to be people who can speak two languages, who have a different shade of skin, and who have a different culture alltogether living in this country. Some people are just ignorant. Who knows how many times I've heard that deep down people are genuinly good. Well if that's true, why doesn't anybody want to help the people in need?

Considering I live in an area that has the signs in English and Spanish due to the amount of Spanish speaking immigrants (not all Mexican), that's kind of an inconsiderate question. My best friend since 7th grade (which was a long time ago) is Mexican, and personally I think that Mexican guys are really cute for the most part. What people are objecting to is that they either didn't enter the country legally or did not leave when their visa was up. My Mexican friends (born in USA legally) do not like the fact of the illegals demanding rights like they are citizens when their families worked hard to become American citizens the legal way. The whole point is LEGAL. The country has rules for a reason, and since they are in fact breaking the law they should be punished and made to enter the country the correct way like other immigrants do.

I think most people are upset over ILLEGAL immigration. The focus just happens to be on Mexico at the moment. I agree with you though. I'm sure a majority of the people against Mexican immigrants couldn't even give you one intelligent reason why they feel that way. People usually just jump on the band wagon and support a cause without having a good reason as to why, It's because it's the "IN" thing at the moment and the less educated people usually just follow the leader. It's what the Bush administration counts on: the stupidity of the American people to believe whatever they are told. Most people forget that they are here in this country as a result of immigration. I don't know many native Americans or people who are decendants of those who came over on The Mayflower either.

No one has every said anything about Mexicans Americans and i have been on this site for quite awhile, we are talking about( illegal) immigrants, we need to control our borders, we cannot take in every poor Mexican that Mexico has, No nation can survive that we can not absorb over half of Mexico. What about that don't you understand. If they come legally then that is fine. But they are not, and every nation sets limits on how many legal immigrants they let in. Apparently you no nothing about the immigration system.

You're making a broad assumption when you say say that all of us hate Mexicans. Not all of us hate Mexicans. Some of us know why the Mexican Nationals come to the states. If I lived in a country that was poor and I could not care for my family financially, I would consider crossing over to another country to make more money for my family. I would like to think though that I would cross over legally but I have never been in that position so I cannot say for sure.
You my dear are been racist when you say that all of us hate Mexicans. Think about that. And be careful about what you say. You don't present yourself very well.

I can tell you why I don't like the ones that I encountered. This is not generalized. this is my experiences living in Texas:

I live in texas and the ones that I encountered (based on my individual personal experience) is that

1. I have had mexicans call me racist names so I don't like them.

2. Three of my friends had their cars hit by mexicans that did not speak english, did not have a texas driver's license, or any insurance. Plus the young mexican teenagers blast their music up at red lights and rev their engine up to get your attention and stare.
3. A couple of mexicans tried to rob me.
4. I have witnessed mexicans vandalize my property and seen them hit and run my friend's car.
5.Every ghetto area in houston has a high concentration of mexicans.
6. Everytime I go to a doctor's office there are at least 3 mexicans families with 10 kids screaming and the parents don't do ****.
7. Everytime I go to a walmart or grocery store there are a bunch of mexicans with kids that are out of control knocking stuff off the shelf.
8. Every red light there is a bunch of mexicans that mow lawns that stare and whistle in a truck where 5 are sitting in the pickup bed.
9. I see mexican teenagers shoplifting everytime I am in the CD section of the store.
10. I have had mexicans steal my hoses, ladders, and use my water faucet outside without my permission and make a mess.

This is why I don't like the mexicans in general. I have a bad impression. No I don't judge every mexican, but when I see people act unintelligently and act like complete perverts, my stereotype is reinforced.

Because the illeagals are flooding our borders like a damn plague, and they think it is ok enter illeagally. Why is it so hard for you to understand that if a person has so much disregard for the law they can't even file a few papers, then we dont want them here, And furthermore look what its doing to the economy. Do you really think that illeagals that are employed outnumber the ones who arent? I personally dont think i should have to pay higher taxes so these people can come accross the border and draw a check, not to mention all of the disease and crime that they are bringing with them. So damn your hardships, we have hardships here too. If we are to continue to just let them overrun our borders, we just as well invade the damn place and break it up into states. In closing piss on you.

Oh great, another liberal spouting the "nation of immigrants" argument. Look, we are not hateful towards mexicans. We are just saying this: If you want to come into our country, do it the LEGAL way. What is hateful about that? Besides, this is NOT racism, it is an opinion that people feel should happen.

Our collective anger is being mistaken for hate. There is no hate towards Mexicans, but anger yes.

Each year more and more good manufacturing jobs are lost in the US and go to Mexico. And then millions of Mexicans cross the border illegally to do work that we won't do. Pretty bizarre...we give Mexico good American jobs and they are still crossing the border.

Please stay at home and make your country a place that I want to sneak into illegally in search of a better life.

Your nation will thank you and so will mine.

I'm not a prejudice person. What I don't understand is why people that want to come up here from Mexico to live in the USA don't want to learn English or don't even try. It is just my opinion that if people want to live in the USA they should learn to speak English. Then on top of it all they speak to one another in their native tongues in front of us and that is so rude because we don't know what they are saying. PLEASE GET EDUCATED AND LEARN TO COMMUNICATE IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE HERE. Also, learn the rules of the road. When you are driving what applies in Mexico does not necessarily apply here. In the state of Texas, please yield to us when we come off the highway onto the service road ramps. In other words, when we have the right of way; don't get mad at us and chase us on the road like you want to hunt us down and kill us just because you can't read a yield sign and don't know that you are suppose to yield to others. Also, when you Mexican guys get in a group together of 3 or more don't stand there and smirk and stare at us beautiful white women when we are buying tampons and Kotex pads in the Walmart stores. It's so rude! Learn manners and learn how to act appropriately. This is not Mexico; it is the USA. And that my dear is why people act hateful toward Mexicans. Also, stop butting up in front of us in line at McDonalds and go to the end of the line like everyone else.
