Very much so. Another example for you might be the fact that Osama Bin Laden and company attacked us on 9/11 so rather than going after him and Al-Qaida until we achieved success, we turned our attention to Iraq (and look where that has gotten us). Now Israel has done so much the same. Palestine captured 3 and killed one of their soldiers so instead of coming down hard on Palestine and the Hamas they've turned their attention to Hezbollah. I don't understand the thinking of either of these actions. If one of your neighbors attacks you, why would you go pick a fight with another neighbor who had nothing to do with the confrontation? And why hurt the children?

First Israel attacked immediately, which in my opinion the US should have done as well, rather than going to the UN for six months first.
Now lets look at the issue from another standing:
You have this little bully in a bar, that wants to look like a tough guy so he starts picking on the biggest guy in the bar, who ignores him best he can.
When the big guy goes to leave the little bully takes a cheap shot and punches him in the side of the head and draws blood. Before any one who was watching could do anything the big guy turns around and starts beating the little bully senseless, and won't stop. The little bully starts calling for others in the bar to help and stop the fight, but for some reason this one group of people won't let anyone stop the fight, this little bully is getting his but whooped, why won't anyone stop the fight, someone has got to stop the fight people are saying.
What you need to know the Big guy is saying the whole time he's beating this bully, "say your sorry, admit you were wrong", but the bully doesn't want that, he wants some one to stop the fight.
Finally the bully admits he was wrong and big guy stops and walks away.
this is the issue, Israel is the big guy, US is stopping people from getting the fight to stop, and the bully is Hezbollah.
Israel wants Hezbollah to return its soldiers and admit its wrong, and upon that Israel will gladly stop the fight.
If they stop before then, then the bully has won again.

I haven't heard the phrase 'peabrained' in a long time. : D
I don't actually watch American news, I view British... unfortunately there really is no good journalism that can be totally trusted.
It is unfortunate that Hezbollah is being attacked in a way that is causing civilian casualties, it is rather cruel and unusual, even for them. For anyone, actually. But, I wish that the American journalism was more free to criticize actions taken in Iraq. I wish that those pulling the strings could take a breath, and maybe if they did they would not die of so many heart attacks. But I am surprised muchly that Israel would be criticized enough to be noticed in American media.
There is no answer to end these wars except to change the perpetrators' minds. I wish it would all end.

I think people around the world should pull their heads out of their a**es and help the people around them whose heads are stuck. The United States of America does not kill innocent people- ever heard of the Rules Of Engagment? Plus, we are not portraying Isreal as bad guys, yet supporting them. They are not killing innocent people either. Hezbollah is getting what those bastards deserve. Why is America seen as evil around the world today? We are the greatest nation in the world and thats a fact. Anyone who disagrees should feel free to invade us. OMGz Youre So StuPid AmerKa Rawks

There's very good chance right now on the tally stick that Bush is responsible for more deaths than Saddam and most likely Osama as well. Some winning of a war, huh?
And (under his administration) America--like Israel already is because of its history since 1946--has become the second most hated nation on Earth.
Yet only 10 years ago, we were still considered the "honest broker" and the nation with the highest morality of all in existance. Only Iceland, Canada and Switzerland consistently outshown us.
Today, our old friends--the Arabs who greatly respected and valued us because we alone had never colonized among their people--absolutely either detest us or pity us for letting the Zionists take over our nation.
And the worst is yet to come. Bush signed a secretive North America Security Pac in Waco Texas in 2005 which he is fast-tracking into the fiber of our national government that will subvert the US Constitution to a tribunal of the USA, Canada and Mexico with all having one vote. Can you imagine that? It's absolutely true. The Bushies refuse to submit it to Congress as a treaty by claimining it is an executive agreement and doesn't need to be.
I will provide below my personal morgue of nearly 600 files supporting all that I state above. All are taken from top-quality national newpapers, networks, magazines, academic papers and more.
You are only on the cusp of the betrayal of America by this very vain and stupid man and his handlers.
Read my introduction remarks in the top folder in the Files section.
Pray for America. That is our ONLY hope left--Divine Intervention.

The American government thinks they "do no evil." Don't get me wrong, I think we were correct to go into Afganistan but not capturing Osama is unexcusable. I also think one properly targeted missile could have taken care of Saddam. I agree he needed to go bit not at the cost of thousands of civilians.
You can't trust the American media too much. CNN is not too bad sometimes if the reports are coming from forign bureaus.
The American government is opressing it's own people too. This current administration has comitted far more Constitutional and Civil Rights Violations and more crimes than Nixon, and he was impeached. And the Judicial and Legislative branches are doing nothing to stop it.
Hopefully the people of this country will take off the blinders and see the whole picture before it is too late.

No flame intended, but...
"Hundreds of thousands of innocent people"? I don't recall us killing hundreds of thousands of anybody, because if we had, bodies would've been littered all over the place. Seeing as how that wasn't the case, you may want to re-evaluate your choice of words. Have you ever been to Iraq? Afghanistan? Israel?
No?
Then you know nothing about any of the current conflicts, and have no business muddying the waters with talk of "good guys" and "bad guys". None of you who watch this war sitting in your comfy living rooms and coffee houses have any idea what you're talking about, and all your rhetoric is just a waste of breath. Go suck down a latte and restrict yourselves to subject matter about which you have actual knowledge.

attackin? HELLO Israel killed 1000s b4 this war even start it i mean what u will do if somone invading ur home ur country what u goin sit around and do noting and fox own by jews they r noting but lairs
First of all, Hezbollah formed in 1982 in response to the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Their goal was to free their country. In 2000, when they finally succeeded in getting Israel to leave Lebanon, they scaled back their military faction and concentrated on their social services. They provide hospitals, housing and education to many Lebanese people.
Although the media reported that the two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped on the Israeli side of the border, if you were paying attention, you would have noticed that the first AP report said they were kidnapped on the Lebanese side of the border. The next day the article was edited to say that they were kidnapped on the border. The day after that it was edited again, this time saying they were kidnapped on the Israeli side.
I think that they are reacting to a situation...not causing it. I know many people do not believe this, but those same people have not taken the time to research the history or the situation.
We're all entitled to our opinions, but it makes so much more sense to base your opinions on facts...instead of blindly believing what the media is told to report.
I can't figure out why everyone thinks it's ok for Israel to fire rockets into another country, but it's not ok for that country to respond. Would we sit idly by while another country fired rockets into the US - or would we respond by firing rockets of our own?
It's important to remember that there are two sides to every story, and what you see on the news rarely presents both sides.
Cheridonna is the one who needs to read history - Lebanon is not part of Israel and was not promised to them..they have no right to occupy that area. If Great Britain promised the United States to Canada - would we all sit back and say "ok....I guess we're all Canadians now"? I doubt it. And, just for the record, the White Paper of 1939 limited the immigration of Jews and restricted their purchase of land. It didn't establish the country of Israel. I would like to thank you for proving my point about needing to read (and I'll add "understand") the history.

u have the right idea nicolasraage...I watch Fox news and they are the closest thing to getting it right. Israel is not the bad guy here. Hezbollah are hiding in houses of the Lebanese and using them as human shields and firing at the Israeli army knowing there are going to be civilian casualties. We need to stay out of it and let them fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here in the U.S.

The only similarity is that both countries do not turn their backs on terrorism.
What news channel is ortraying Israel as the bad guys? I watch news that doesn't force its opinion on you (fox). I see a militia that crossed into Israel, kidnapped soldiers, is now hiding in lebanon, firing missles into israel, without lebanon trying to stop them.
