How physically fit do you have to be to do good in jrotc?

I was in Air Force JROTC and there was no requirement for physical fitness. All you had to be able to do was march, really. I guess it may depend on the commanders you have.

Now actual ROTC is a much different story...

I don't think you do any physical exercise in JROTC, unless you go to summer camp. They usually do some land nav (walking), maybe tie a few 2 and 3 rope bridges and cross them for training. I thought it was fun (that was 1985 damn I'm an old bastard).

It all depends on the unit. I happen to be in Air Force JROTC, and our unit doesn't have the strict fitness standards the other units have, so it all depends. I wouldn't worry too much though, you'll do fine.

back when i was in jrotc there was none because your not doing andy running jumping just stepping left face, right face and etc. no physical fitness involved
