for all the civilian casualties in lebanon?

This is a group (not the official government military) firing rockets into another country from inside civilian areas.

If you don't think they are responsible, please explain why.

zar, your eagerness to defend hezbolah scares me.

Tell me, what is an organization not affiliated with the lebonese military doing with thousands of rockets, and why are they firing them out of civilian areas?

Hezbollah is absolutely responsible! The cowards hide behind their women and children (who have no rights to speak for themselves in their society) and blame Israel? They started this war and cower behind babies. And they consider themselves brave fighters; men among men? Bullcookies!
The only mistake Israel has made is warning the terrorists they were coming so the "men" could flee and leave their women and children shackled and abandoned as the war hit them. You call them MEN??? Pitiful.
The blood of the innocents, on BOTH sides, lays solely on Hezbollah and their bands of hairy wimps. Too bad their media won't allow the people to see the truth: their fat leader feasting and whimpering in a foreign Embassy of Terrorist Supporters guarded by little girls and baby boys.

You've already got some great answers here, but I can't stop myself from throwing my two cents in when I see someone defending Hezbollah.

They are not freedom fighters. They are terrorists. It's that simple. A quick Yahoo search on any one of the following names would do someone a lot of good:

Terry Anderson
John MacCarthy
Brian Kennan
Tom Sutherland
Ben Weir
Reverend Lawrence Jenco...
among many others, this is just a start.

Then another quick search, just type in the words "Marine Barracks bombing".

If that isn't enough, nothing is. Return head to sand, sorry I bothered you.

And to answer the original question- of course they are responsible.

lots of people think that hezbollah is hiding amongst civilians but its all because israel is telling them so ,its their only excuse to kill civilians. lebanon does not have a good army and israel is still occupying a little part of this country and prisoning some lebanese so all what hezbollah wanted is to get those poeple back they didnt want any war israel wanted that war, its not their right to occupy other people's country and put them in prison so plz cut the crap and quit saying they r terrorists they r just defending their country
can u plz tell me what would u do if u r living in an occupied country where u have no army to fight 4 u

Hezbolah is definitely responsible for the armed aggression it started.

Nora needs to read history. Israel was promised to the Israelites/Israelies by Brittain in 1948. It was also promised to others in the White Papers. Israel has created from the desert, a florishing agricultural industry as well as a very good army and medical facilities. In fact, the Hadassah hospital does minister to Israel's enemies in need.

What you're saying is like saying a man who rapes and murders women shouldn't be responsible for his actions.

The Hezbolah STARTED the problem by illegally entering Israel, kidnapping and murdering innocent civillians.

I don't think they are responsible and I'll tell you why.

First of all, Hezbollah formed in 1982 in response to the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Their goal was to free their country. In 2000, when they finally succeeded in getting Israel to leave Lebanon, they scaled back their military faction and concentrated on their social services. They provide hospitals, housing and education to many Lebanese people.

Although the media reported that the two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped on the Israeli side of the border, if you were paying attention, you would have noticed that the first AP report said they were kidnapped on the Lebanese side of the border. The next day the article was edited to say that they were kidnapped on the border. The day after that it was edited again, this time saying they were kidnapped on the Israeli side.

I think that they are reacting to a situation...not causing it. I know many people do not believe this, but those same people have not taken the time to research the history or the situation.

We're all entitled to our opinions, but it makes so much more sense to base your opinions on facts...instead of blindly believing what the media is told to report.

I can't figure out why everyone thinks it's ok for Israel to fire rockets into another country, but it's not ok for that country to respond. Would we sit idly by while another country fired rockets into the US - or would we respond by firing rockets of our own?

It's important to remember that there are two sides to every story, and what you see on the news rarely presents both sides.

Cheridonna is the one who needs to read history - Lebanon is not part of Israel and was not promised to them..they have no right to occupy that area. If Great Britain promised the United States to Canada - would we all sit back and say "ok....I guess we're all Canadians now"? I doubt it. And, just for the record, the White Paper of 1939 limited the immigration of Jews and restricted their purchase of land. It didn't establish the country of Israel. I would like to thank you for proving my point about needing to read (and I'll add "understand") the history.

Posted in response to your additional information:
I'm sure it does. Your eagerness to defend George Bush scares me. What are they doing with rockets? The same thing everyone else is doing with rockets - they are defending theirself. They have the same right as Israel to do that, and the Lebanese government is a weak one. Tell me - why do we find it so horrible that Iran is supplying them with arms, while we are shipping a ton of arms to Israel? Would Hezbollah have started firing rockets just for the fun of it? No...they fired rockets in response to Israel firing them at them. There are other ways to get back two kidnapped soldiers - ways that do not involve murdering children.

The part that bothers me is that people like you believe this is about Israel defending itself - and it's about two kidnapped soldiers. This is about money, oil, power and control. This is about Israel getting in place to attack Syria and Iran. This was all planned long ago. They created circumstances that would dupe you into supporting this - and it worked.

Of course they are responsible, they brought this upon themselves by launching rockets into Israel
Nobody in their right mind would attack Israel and not expect them react with the full force of their military

Hezzbolah, the terrorist cowards who are hiding behind civilians, are 100% responsible for the casualties.

These terrorists are hiding and firing their missiles behind these "civilians". These civilians are most probably Hezbollah sympathisers.
