I, as a former military man, now will forever turn my back on this war mongering country. The USA is a bully and I want to see it go down in shame. Is there anything wrong with that? I spent 6 years in the military for the right to do that.

I am against the policies of the US government, their arrogance and their bully stance, but I am not against the US. There is a difference.

From the sound of what I am hearing from the Democratic party over this incursion into Lebanon by Israel, I'm pretty sure nothing will change should the parties change in the next couple of elections. This dismays me.

The last few years have been hard to stay a patriotic American when you know in your heart that what your government is perpetrating is criminal.

As far as the fascists who constantly call for any one who dissents from the official or popular US views to leave the country or "go to France" perhaps they would do well to read the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The "America, love it or leave it" attitude is more anti-American then anything I have heard from the majority of the protesters or dissenters.

I don't think you're alone. There are plenty of people who feel the same way you do.

I don't think it's the USA that I'm against...more the current administration and their policies. I would like to see every member of the Bush administration go down in shame, but I do not want to see our country go down with them.

It's great that you were in the military, but every American has a right to dissent - whether they served in the military or not. It's our right as an American - at least for the time being - I'm sure Bush and his cronies are working on a way to take that right away from us too.

I bet your six years were spent being a complete ****bird. How many Article 15's did you get? You sound like those pathetic little whiners that joined up for the college money, and then ditched all your responsibilites as a member of the Armed Forces. People like you make me sick, and the military is better off without you. If you need help with plane fare so you can leave, let me know and I'll start a collection so we can get you over to North Korea or Cuba or maybe Iran, so you can live in a paradise of humanitarian bliss. I wish you the best of luck with their secret police personnel. Hope pain is something you enjoy... :D

I would say you have the right to your opinion.
I am against what the Gov't has done to our country its citezens and the world BUT.
I would not wish it to "go down in flames or in Shame"-so to speak.
I have seen the truths that are and have not been conditioned to go along with the censored media or the Gov'ts lies. Yet I wish that our country would be saved from what has happened to it...
Each and every person is negatively affected each and every day by what is and has been going on for years even if they dont see it. And I am sore and hurt about it too. But I live here and for me to support the demise of my Home would be technically supporting my suicide. If you get what I mean.
Like Dont Sh*T in your own backyard...
At least we still have the right to bear arms without a gun registration; and even though we do "Technically" have one we are a little better off than the rest of the World when it comes to that.
So I would say ther is absolutely nothing wrong in your opinion - IT IS YOUR RIGHT..
But the best thing I would say is look out for NUMERO-UNO, Yourself; and Screw what everyone else is doing...
Thats niether here nore there.

As a fellow American while I can understand and sympatheise wity you I cannot agree with you. In fact looking your long years in the defence services I feel that you should have know better the predicament of our country. Would you rather go with the Monroe doctrine which advocated to itself unmindful if the rest of the world goes to hell? Admitted our country had no reason for getting engaged either of the two World Wars.It may be true to a limited extent But have you ever thought of the world had the axis powers won? If the old world falls can the New World be far behind? Had USA not taken the leald incheckmating USSR at every stage do you think the Red shadow over the world had receded nay disappeared as it did? Admitted now as the only power substing on the world scene it may be given to some excesses(Iraq is one example) the psychology of a giant has to be taken into account. The Gods are not necessarily against the giant provided it keeps to itself in the jungles. However, the giant in his nervousness always feels that god is plotting against him and seeks to destroy His world and god has to act. Here it is the god who seeing him alone on wide field is nervous of possible attack from some side and attempts to preempt it(as it happened in Iraq) But then you have to take into account that there had been no power in history in comparable position of strength. America will ,as time goes along, slowly settle down . Till then we Americans have to try to understand our country. At least not brand it as a villain.

It seems that you have a personal problem with the military, and because of that you hate this country. I'm sure there are a lot of injustices that go on in war that we the American public do not know about. However, for you to use this form to vent is apparently not helping you at all. We can't do anything for you at all. Why don't you try to do something constructive or make some decisions about your situation.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Sorry you feel that way. Although I don't always stand behind everything that happens here...I would never want someone in this nation to suffer!

I don't always support what the government does and I realize there are things that are corrupt. The truth is, that's in every country. Not everyone is going to agree all the time.

Somethings are not agreeable, but I realize, when I look at other countries and people in those countries suffering...I know that I am glad I was born & raised AMERICAN!

You served your country...and if you believe that you want to turn your back...go ahead, but when you come to your senses in a dictated country...don't forget to send a postcard apologizing to ALL THE AMERICANS THAT YOU RAN OUT ON!!!

I SAY AGAIN...GOD BLESS AMERICA!! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

Im perfectly fine. The U.S is a bully and every day they tell
every country to close their nuclier weapon program they are coming towards their shamefull doom. Just as Alexander the Great, The British Empire or any other former super power fell the U.S will fall to but not in honor and instead in shame.
How can America consider themselves a nation of freedom and peace when they came to this land and slaughtered innocent natives. As long as the U.S is in this land it will always be tainted with the blood of natives. We are coming close to WW3 and I am
interested to see how India and China will do as super powers
in the 1,000 years of peace after Armegedon.

Right or wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion. You have your unpopular opinion, but maybe the reason it is not popular is because you are wrong, not the country. If your idea was any good, and you were right, a majority of the people would agree with you. There's nothing wrong with you having an opinion, but you must realize that in the USA having an opinion doesn't mean you re right.
