It tastes like fish if its not higher quality. Otherwise it will have a bland taste with the texture of tapioca pudding.

It has a very salty taste and it can be black and shiney. (and yes, caviar is eggs from fish).

it can be black, red, or pink.
i have heard that the black smells fish-ier than the others.
It mostly tastes salty, with a slightly gelatinous feel.
imagine eating tiny little balls of salty Jello.
but, having said all that, done properly, it is wonderful.
I like Tarama Salata, a greek salad/dipping suace made with caviar.

Hi, it tastes like fish (maybe sardines) but it is so salty is does not taste good to me. The ones I tasted were kinda of gray and black. c

very salty...its very good on crackers...you wont notice the fishy taste that way...or if you eat it with vodka...

some of it is, some i think is red and some green, it is fish eggs so i think it depends on the fish....not to mention the taste will be different for each, how well it is prepared makes a difference too. the only way to know the taste is to try for yourself!
