I always wondered as a child about the existence of the crosses. I know that Jesus was crucified but I have always wondered if the crosses are still standing. Many years ago someone told me that they are still in Jerusalem. I wanted to visit Jerusalem years ago to visit all of those historical places were biblical events occurred but now that's like impossible and I will never will lol.

Do you know any good sites that talk about these. I would love to see a picture but I feel wrong and weird asking this because it makes me seem like if I have no faith but is because I appreciate those kind of historic times. I am a fan of history and arqueology. If not anything else that has to do with the archeology of those times etc. I know these kind of things exist but that will require me to do an intense search in goggle.

Thank you very much.

Suggest me other good sites that are related to that if you want too.

All ancient remnants of anything that even looked like a cross, and all other things that could POSSIBLY be ancient artifacts, were scooped up by the mother of that War Lord Constantine, and moved to the headquarters of that newly formed Cult. ( The Vatican)

Little things are still being found such as the seal showing the Jewish/Christian heritage ( see below) that's about all.

Going to Jerusalem is a let down for most people because it is now so commercialized.

No, the crosses aren't still standing. Crucifixion was a common form of execution used by the Romans.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to see historical and archeological sites associated with Biblical events. There's a good book called Walking the Bible that talks about mostly sites associated with the Old Testament.

I don't think the crosses are still there. ( my opinion only), because they would have been taken years ago and hidden away somewhere. But on the other hand, I think they probably reused the crosses time and again, and just replaced the cross arms. I have heard this theory and several others, but like all stories, they would have to be checked out. God bless.

crosses are not standing, there's a church built over that spot, and it was surrounded by the city as it grew. It is also a major tourist attraction, with crowds, cameras, pickpockets, street traders, etc.

There are some records of crosses being found in middle ages, and miracrles happening around them, and pieces of the cross being stored in churches around Europe.

There is also an observation that there are enough pieces to build a small ship out of all that wood.

The cross Christ was crusified on probably no longer exists. However, it is believed and widely reported that there is a sliver of the cross that is held by the Catholic Church in St. Peters Church in the Vatican.

The True Cross was discovered and used, sliver by sliver, in the cornerstones of every Cathedral in the world. Ask your nearest Catholic Priest where you may view a piece of the True Cross.
