What, after you left the Marines crumbled?
LOL- no one believes you really served.
And I never got to read your answer to my question, since it was reported by some crybaby fink. Would you mind reposting it to my new and hypothetical question?

Retreat might mean that the Marines did not win the firefight, but it also means something else. Something positive.
It means that the commander of the group that got into that one had enough brains to realize that he was outmatched, or in a bad location, or otherwise faced with any of the number of circumstances that would have allowed him to successfully deal with the force that was attacking him and his troops. If anything, he did his duty to his men and did everything he could to make sure his boys would walk off a plane and not be carted off in a steel box.
Retreating is nowhere near as glorious as a heroic and suicidal last stand or a costly victory, but while I am not too sure about the manpower status of the USMC right now, but I will tell you that any commander would rather see one of his units fall back and regroup and try again than get wiped out.
Granted, retreating isn't the best thing for morale, but every military scholar advocates avoiding battle whenever one is faced with a set of circumstances that will not do everything to favour the odds of victory, from Sun Tzu on.

Hope u sleep good tonite in your comfy bed...while our troops sleep out in the desert freezing, away from their loved ones, and wondering if they will ever see them again.

It easy to to disparage when you are comfortably sitting behind your computer, safe at home. Retreat is not defeat. Sounds like you are very bitter about your military experience.

The US forces are not allowed to win. If they went in as they did in the past and elliminated anything that moved, they would win.
